Survivor Winners at War: Five sleeper picks who could win it all
2) Nick Wilson
The rookie among the cast is coming into Winners at War with the potential to play another masterful game. Nick Wilson was awarded the title of Sole Survivor only six months before flying back to Fiji for season 40. Despite that, Nick still feels overlooked among this stacked cast.
This is especially true compared to other recent winners. Ben “Bomb” Driebergen, Wendell Holland, Sarah Lacina and Jeremy Collins seem to overshadow Nick with their personalities and egos. That might end up working in Nick’s favor, making him appear more trustworthy than he actually is.
In David vs. Goliath, Nick excelled at each facet of the game. He confided in his tribe members early on, allowing his social game to dig himself out of an early hole. He was able to strategically maneuver those real relationships to put himself and his alliance in the best position.
Nick took advantage of the inter-tribal friendships he built pre-merge, helping him to be the last original David member standing. He even had the athleticism to go on an Immunity run at the end to ensure his fate was in his own hands.
I’m a little scared for Nick early on, especially since he hasn’t had enough time to build friendships with these other winners outside of the game. As long as he can survive the first few days and avoid playing too hard, Nick has the skills to make it to the end in an all-winners season.
