6. Wendell Holland

Despite looking like a villain (likely due to editing and the fact he voted out a legendary player in Parvati Shallow), Wendell’s in an excellent position right now. He has most of his pre-swap alliance intact and can control the fate of Yul and wrestle control of that group if he so chooses. Sure, he might not win the game the way the edit portrays him, but he’s certainly not in a position to go home before the merge.

Whatever the future of Sele beholds, it will be a fate in his hands. With Wendell poised to give Michele a quick talk, I do understand she can use that moment to turn it back around to Wendell and try to get Nick or Yul to flip allegiances. However, if they’re on the same page enough for Wendell to “sell” his vote publicly to Parvati, they have enough trust in the man, even if that’s a bad idea.

5. Ben Driebergen

We saw so little of Yara in the most recent episode, making what did appear in the episode so important. It establishes that Ben wants to work with good people and establish himself as a winner deserving to play in Survivor: Winners at War, and he likes Sarah and Sophie as people first and possible alliance members second. He wants to play with them, and they would certainly seem to reciprocate.

Even better is if he does want to take out Adam, he has the opportunity to do so if push came to shove. If he doesn’t, he hasn’t burned that bridge yet, either.
