We didn’t get to hear from the players on the red carpet, so the Survivor: Winners at War Final Six share their thoughts through video.
This post will showcase videos from each of the Final Six players from Survivor: Winners at War, including who returned from the Edge of Extinction and who won the game.
Last night’s Survivor: Winners at War finale was like no other in the show’s history. Jeff Probst did not announce the winner from a live studio audience in either New York or Los Angeles, but from a studio built in his own garage to look like Tribal Council. A champion was crowned over what might have been Zoom or another teleconferencing service, and a 20-panel window was the closest thing we got to a reunion.
Most of the three-hour finale was dedicated to the coronation of the new king of Survivor, Tony Vlachos, leaving him just seconds to reflect on his win and even less time for the others who fell just short. The current global pandemic has changed the television landscape, pushing more and more content online or in virtual environments.
That means getting more of the Survivor: Winners at War finale reactions from the players on social media, as each of the Final Six had a chance to reflect on their journey in videos of various lengths. To catch them all, here is a link to the video for sixth place, fifth place, fourth place, third place, second place and the Ultimate Sole Survivor.
What got me the most was how pointed was some of these questions. Denise was questioned pretty harshly about if not having alliances was an effective strategy, Ben was questioned on if he regretted trying to hide the idol from Tony while he watched on, and Michele was directly asked about what it was like to play with Wendell.
No matter the case, with how much information and entertainment we lost due to a focus on the Edge of Extinction taking place in most weeks’ episodes, we’re going to have to get a lot more information out of the Survivor: Winners at War champions with post-game interviews and the like.
