Survivor season rankings: All Survivor seasons, ranked
1. Heroes vs. Villains (Season 20)
Our votes were unanimous in choosing Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains as the best season in the show’s history and it’s not hard to see why. All-returnee seasons can be hit-or-miss, as All-Stars stands as a testament to. The reason why producers have to keep trying it, though, is what transpired in HvV. From start to finish, it’s truly masterful television.
Beginning with the end, you can’t overlook The Queen of Survivor taking her throne as Sandra Diaz-Twine became the first two-time winner in the show’s history. Though she was up against Russell Hantz in his second bull-headed, devil-may-care run to Final Tribal Council and another previous winner in Parvati Shallow, Sandra once again showed how crucial jury management is in this game as she worked them masterfully to take home $1 million for the second time.
The greatness of Heroes vs. Villains is far more than just that, however. From the immediate feud between Russell and Boston Rob to J.T. giving Hantz his idol despite being on different tribes to Tyson Apostol panicking and dooming himself, the action and unforgettable moments were jam-packed throughout the 39 days.
