Sandra’s Biggest Moves on Survivor – Number 3: Sugar Gate

We’ll stay with Game Changers for Sandra’s third best move, which has been dubbed “Sugar Gate”. At this point in the game, a tribe switch occurred, putting Sandra in the majority alliance on the Nuku tribe.

J.T. Thomas, the only other remaining winner in the game, was on the outs, but managed to find a Hidden Immunity Idol. J.T. was coming for Sandra from the jump and he had attempted to pull Malcolm over in order to get Sandra out.

Well, a joint tribal council took place on Day 11 that forced the two losing tribes (there were three total tribes at this point) to go to tribal and all vote together to get one person out. It was one of the worst twists ever, but it blew up J.T.’s game, as he revealed who his tribe was voting for, which helped them correctly play an idol and forced Malcolm to go home.

Sandra was furious with these events and really wanted J.T. gone, so she decided to play on the escalating feud between him and fellow tribe mate Michaela. Sandra consumed the rest of the tribe’s sugar that had been won in a challenge, which was something J.T. and Michaela had already been bickering about.

This was genius because it actually worked! J.T. blamed Michaela for using up the rest of the sugar, infuriating Michaela and allowing the rest of the tribe to want to break up the drama. J.T. was blindsided the next time the team went to tribal council and left with an idol in his pocket.

Sugar Gate was a successful mission by Sandra and one of her best moves.
