Sandra’s Biggest Moves on Survivor – Number 1: Convincing Russell that Coach was after him

It wasn’t looking good for Sandra and her closest ally Courtney after Boston Rob got the axe in Heroes vs Villains, but never count Sandra out.

At this point in the game, Russell, Parvati, and Danielle’s alliance was running things and Sandra and Courtney were on the outs. The villains lost another immunity challenge, forcing them to go to tribal council where it seemed obvious that either Sandra or Courtney would be sent packing due to them being the weakest members of the tribe.

Sandra cooked up a spicy plan though and that was to take advantage of Russell’s paranoia. She was able to convince Russell that Coach was out to get him and this worked, as Russell got the rest of his alliance to blindside Coach. If Sandra doesn’t do this, Courtney goes this time and Sandra goes at the next tribal council.

Instead, Coach went, then it was Courtney, and Sandra made it to the merge where Russell viewed her as a goat and well – We all know how that turned out.

This move was brilliant because it showed she could plant seeds in Russell’s head and sway him to vote the way she wanted him to vote.

As mentioned on the opening slide, Sandra’s legacy is a controversial one amongst Survivor fans. She won twice, so she’s obviously in the upper tier of players, but neither of her winning games were all that impressive.

Her “Anyone but me” strategy really helped her get to the end both times, but her biggest strategy in Heroes vs Villains was trying to get Russell out and that didn’t work. Even with that being the case, Sandra has been able to tell the juries what they wanted to hear and do enough to earn their votes TWICE. That’s pretty darn impressive.
