Ranking the worst new player casts in Survivor history

Worst Survivor Casts – Number 2: Nicaragua (Season 21)

The last Dark Age season to appear on this list is Survivor: Nicaragua, whose cast was absolutely horrendous. If you thought it was difficult to find someone to root for in Thailand, Nicaragua says “Hold my beer”. At least Thailand had SOMEONE fans could root for; That wasn’t the case in Nicaragua.

For one, Na’Onka was one of the worst people to ever appear on the show. She was rude and the fact that she quit on Day 28 was so irritating to watch.

Na’Onka wasn’t the only quitter, however, as Purple Kelly also quit the same day. Along the way, she was basically ignored by the editors and when fans now say someone has a “purple” edit, it’s because of Purple Kelly.

The final three this season was one of the worst groups ever and while Fabio seems like a nice enough guy, he’s one of the worst Survivor winners in the history of the show. He won because this cast knew nothing about the game (sans Brenda and Marty, who were there to play hard) and voted based on who they liked more than who played the best game.

When I went back and rewatched Survivor: Nicaragua, I was hoping maybe I’d find a new appreciation for it, but nope – The cast really does sink the season and it’s one of the worst casts of all-time. There’s a reason why Brenda has been the only one to return from this horrid cast.
