Most memorable moments from Survivor: Blood vs Water
Rock draw
Season 4 was the first time we ever saw someone eliminated because the castaways couldn’t come to a consensus and were forced to draw rocks. It took 23 seasons for it to occur again, as Hayden’s plea for Ciera to realize she was on the bottom and switch to his and Katie Collins’ side worked, forcing a rock draw between Ciera, Katie, and Tyson.
Katie was the unlucky recipient of the black rock and was sent to Redemption Island as a result. This was a bigger moment than “OMG SHE VOTED OUT HER MOM!” but over the years has gotten lost in the shuffle a bit, which is unfortunate because it decided the course of the season and basically ensured Tyson would finally win the show.
Tyson’s win
A lot of people have Tyson’s win pretty high up on the list of winners, but I’m in the minority there. The main reason is that it took him 3 tries to win (much like why I have Rob’s win so low, it took him 4 tries) and he was playing against just 9 former players and 10 newbies, making it a smidge easier.
That being said, Tyson did play a good game, finding 2 Hidden Immunity Idols and forming good enough bonds with people where everyone assumed he was taking them to the end with him. No one really tried to gun for Tyson until it was too late and that’s the sign of him building trust with everyone.
R.I.P. Caleb
I’ll end this post discussing Caleb, who sadly passed away in June 2014. People were confused by his relationship with Colton, as Caleb was such a sweet guy while Colton was… not that. Caleb might not have been a huge character in the season, but he was likable and it’s hard to root against that. Caleb was taken from the world way too soon.
