4. Cyclone evacuation (Millennials vs Gen-X, Season 33)

In the first episode of Millennials vs Gen-X, we saw a Survivor first. The contestants were evacuated during a Fijian cyclone that surely would have injured (at the very least) several players. The first night saw a miserable monsoon that resulted in rain pouring down on the contestants all night and the Millennials didn’t have a proper shelter, so they were soaking wet by morning.

It looked like the next night would be a similar situation (likely worse), but Jeff came roaming into both camps to let them know that they would be evacuated. We saw the damage the next morning and on the Gen-X camp, a tree actually crashed onto their shelter. Several surely would have been injured had they not been evacuated.

This was a scary moment because we had never seen Survivor evacuate players before. Even in All-Stars with a freaking hurricane, Jenna Lewis said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that even the cameramen left and the players were left to fend for themselves. Production definitely did the right thing with this decision, but there’s no doubt that it was a scary situation.

There wasn’t a YouTube video available on the evacuation, so instead, please enjoy this photo of Adam Klein, winner of Millennials vs Gen-X.
