Best pre-Idol blindsides in Survivor history- No. 10: Burton (Pearl Islands, Season 7 – First Time)

Burton Roberts was the first Survivor contestant to be booted twice in one season and sure enough, he appears on this list both times. First, let’s discuss his first boot, which occurred in the fourth episode of Survivor: Pearl Islands.

Burton was in a “cool kids”-Esque alliance on the Drake tribe and was constantly shown belittling other members of the tribe. Drake won the first three immunity challenges and Burton was ready to start getting rid of some of the “weaker” people. After they threw the challenge, Morgan was allowed to kidnap someone from Drake and naturally, they kidnapped Rupert.

This led to Drake being aggravated with Burton and eventually led to his demise. Burton didn’t see it coming and it was a great blindside.

Best pre-Idol blindsides in Survivor history- No. 9: Gregg (Palau, Season 10)

Gregg was trending in a positive direction near the end of Survivor: Palau, as he had a tight alliance with Jenn (RIP) and also thought that he and Katie were tightly aligned. Gregg and his alliance were hoping that once Caryn was gone, he and his alliance could take out Tom and Ian, who were easily the biggest threats to win the game.

Well, Tom and Ian caught wind of this and managed to turn the tides on Gregg by persuading Katie to vote for him. This left both Gregg and Jenn in the dark and made for a very fun blindside.
