Survivor Season 42 update: Survivor 42 on track to begin filming in May 2021
By Sean Cole
Hey Survivor fans, I know that the last update that we posted was a little bit gloomy and depressing as it was reported that flights to and from Fiji were canceled putting the status of Survivor season 42 in question.
The Fijian Government stated that all flights to and from Fiji were going to be canceled until they got a hold on what they were dealing with in terms of the most recent COVID-19 outbreak in Fiji. This meant that the season 41 survivors who were finishing up filming would be taking an extended vacation. As for the Season 42 Survivors, the plan was to fly to Fiji to quarantine and then to begin filming as soon as Season 41 was done filming.
While it looked like we would definitely have Survivor season 41 to watch, the fate of Survivor season 42 was put in jeopardy of not being able to be filmed during the originally envisioned timeline.
When is Survivor season 42 filming in Fiji?
Thanks to the Survivor God’s, we have heard of some great news about the status of Survivor season 42 and filming.
According to Inside Survivor, there were actually certain passenger flights that were still operating throughout Fiji. With certain passenger flights operating, it appears that the cast of Survivor season 42 was able to make it to the island on time to begin the 14 day quarantine period that was mandated by the Fiji Government before filming begins.
Now that filming for season 41 has wrapped up and is completed, filming on season 42 is expected to begin sometime this May.
Never fear ladies and gentlemen, the prospect of having a Survivor season 42 to watch and enjoy is looking better and better. Do we really care if season 42 is shortened from its normal 39 days to 26-29 days? Absolutely not, because just the thought of hearing those sweet words “The tribe has spoken” from Jeff Probst will be worth the wait.
