Survivor 41‘s second book is in the books. The show dropped back down to just an hour-long show after last week’s two-hour premiere, but that didn’t mean the producers felt the need to slow down. We saw a brand new type of advantage enter the game and wreak some havoc on Yase’s beach. Time will tell if it does the same for the other two tribes.

Unlike last week, these power rankings are starting to settle in just a bit. Obviously, big moves can still happen when players find advantages or make surprising votes. That said, we’re certainly beginning to get a better picture of which players will likely be major characters this season.

Survivor 41 episode 2 power rankings

Out) David Voce (Last: 7) – Voce didn’t really do anything wrong to get voted out this week. This was a totally baffling decision from the women of Yase. They knew Xander couldn’t vote, so they could have put two votes on Xander (their original target) and one vote on Voce to protect Tiffany from the idol she decided Xander had. That gets out the bigger threat while keeping Voce in Evvie’s good graces. Unfortunately for the doctor, they went with the for sure option and knocked him out of the game too early.

15) Brad Reese (Last: 16) – Brad was our player in the most trouble after last week and that isn’t changing. He’s just playing too hard and too sloppy. No one seems to really trust him, which is not a good sign. He needs a swap to reset his chances.

14) Heather Aldret (Last: 14) – Luvu, in general, is tough to rank. We’re putting Heather this low because we haven’t seen anything out of her and she was the first option to sit out. That could show that the tribe doesn’t believe in her challenge prowess, which might be a bad sign if Luvu ever does go to tribal council. Of course, we haven’t seen much from the tribe in terms of strategy yet, so who knows?

13) Tiffany Seely (Last: 9) – Tiffany has quickly tumbled down our rankings due to some questionable choices in the second episode. She’s just so paranoid to the point where Liana and Evvie were getting visibly frustrated with her. The show also showed her struggling with camp life in the early goings, which isn’t a good sign. If the tribes don’t swap, Xander should be the next boot from Yase, but if they swap, Tiff could be in big trouble.

12) Genie Chen (Last: 12) – Was Genie in this episode? We need more Genie. She’s phenomenal.

11) Xander Hastings (Last: 11) – Xander is in a very bad spot on Yase. He has no real allies anymore and doesn’t have a vote. He needs a swap yesterday, and he might get exactly what he wants soon. If he can hold on, he has a few tools that could help him turn things around quickly.

10) Jairus “JD” Robinson (Last: 13) – We didn’t see much out of JD, but what we did see was pretty positive. The Ua tribal target has seemingly shifted to Brad, so JD is probably fine for at least one more vote. After that, we’re a little worried, but he’s shown the gumption to get something going.

9) Erika Casupanan (Last: 10) – Like Genie, we don’t remember seeing Erika at all in this episode. That kind of invisibility usually isn’t a good sign.

8) Danny McCray (Last: 4) – We’re dropping Danny a bit this week because he was pretty invisible, while other members of his tribe continue to get consistent screentime. That doesn’t mean he’ll be the next one out, but it does signal that production doesn’t view him as a big character, which could be a bad sign for his game.

7) Naseer Muttalif (Last: 15) – The preview for the second episode looked like it was burying Naseer, but the actual episode was super positive for him. He’s probably not winning this game because they haven’t shown him doing anything good strategically, but he seems pretty locked in with his tribe due to all the survival tools he brings.

6) Sydney Segal (Last: 5) – Sydney didn’t have much to do this week, but still featured with a confessional here or there. That likely means she’s sticking around for a while. Production doesn’t want you to forget about her, which is why she gets to talk about Naseer instead of someone like Erika or Heather.

5) Deshawn Radden (Last: 8) – We’re slotting Deshawn over the rest of the Luvu tribe this week because he now has a cross-tribal alliance with Evvie. Considering how much of a force they could become, Deshawn is in a great spot.

4) Liana Wallace (Last: 6) – Last week, we kept Liana down a bit simply because we didn’t see much of her game. It seemed like everything was coming through Evvie. This week, it felt more like a partnership, which is probably good news for both players. You don’t want to drive the strategy too much by yourself early, so having a duo to share that with is huge.

3) Ricard Foye (Last: 3) – Ricard showed that he’s more than willing to work with just about everyone by going back and picking JD up after last week’s vote. That said, we had to drop him a spot because another player is just dominating right now.

2) Shantel “Shan” Smith (Last: 2) – Like Ricard, Shan didn’t do anything wrong. She’s still going to be a force this season.

1) Evvie Jagoda (Last: 3) – Could it really be anybody else? Not only does Evvie have great bonds with just about everybody at Yase beach, but they’ve started making cross-tribal relationships with Deshawn as well. Unless something massive changes, no one is sitting in a better seat than Evvie next week.
