Best Survivor Winners No. 37: Tommy Sheehan (Island of the Idols)

Season 39 of Survivor, Island of the Idols, will always be better known for Dan Spilo’s removal of the game for inappropriate touching, and a bland twist that had Boston Rob and Sandra serve as surprise mentors to players than the actual gameplay.

That unfortunately makes Tommy Sheehan’s win difficult to rank because it was overshadowed by a dark cloud and the fact that he wanted to take Dan to the end with him makes things even more complicated when it comes to ranking him.

Tommy worked closely with Lauren throughout his season, but when it came down to it, some could argue his best move of the entire season was being able to convince Noura to take him to the end and not force him to make fire against Dean. Had Tommy been forced to do so, he likely loses and Lauren probably wins the season.

Tommy was targeted numerous times and allowed on his tight friendships to help him. He did certain things well for sure, but when it comes down to it, nothing about Tommy’s win really stands out.
