Meet The Team
Bryce Olin
Bryce Olin is the Entertainment Content Director for FanSided, where he oversees daily coverage of the biggest TV shows, movies, and books. After graduating from the University of Idaho with a degree in journalism and digital media, Bryce has been a key part of the FanSided network since 2014, where he assisted in the creation and growth of FanSided’s entertainment vertical, including Surviving Tribal. Bryce has been a fan of Survivor since Richard Hatch’s victory in Survivor: Borneo in 2000. While he missed a few seasons while they aired on CBS, Bryce is caught up on all 49 — and soon to be 50 — seasons of the best reality TV series of all time. His favorite season is obviously Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains. Since taking over as the site lead of FanSided's Survivor blog in 2023, Surviving Tribal is one of the go-to destinations for news, analysis, and rankings for Jeff Probst’s hit show. When he’s not daydreaming about the glory days of Survivor, predicting winners, and reanalyzing older seasons, Bryce is hanging out with family, friends, and dog.
@bryceolinCody Schultz
Cody Schultz is the Senior Director of Entertainment at FanSided, where he leads editorial strategy across the company's entertainment websites. A trusted voice in the entertainment space with over a decade of experience, Cody has been part of the FanSided team since 2014, covering television and movies. His work spans celebrity interviews, deep-dive features, and event coverage, including reporting from some of the biggest industry events such as San Diego Comic-Con, New York Comic Con, D23 Expo, and the Golden Globe Awards. Cody has interviewed stars like Chris Evans, Brie Larson, Colin Farrell, Jennifer Coolidge, and the cast of Outer Banks, bringing fans closer to the stories and creators they love. When he’s not writing or crafting editorial strategies, Cody is likely watching the latest hit series, geeking out about all things Marvel, or hanging out with his two Corgis, Buck and Banx.
Jacqueline Thomas
Jacqui is a Contributor for Surviving Tribal with nearly a decade of digital media credits in TV, film, and live entertainment under her belt. You may have spotted social content she's created across titles for Hulu, Bravo, HBO Max, and FX or you might know her as that cursed girl from BuzzFeed who broke the internet (literally...). Most recently you can find her working on her debut novel and perfecting her Survivor audition pitch as she counts down the days until she can apply again.
Joel Wagler
Joel is a life long sports and entertainment fan and has spent 16 years covering the NFL, MLB, college basketball, and college football, as well as TV, movies, books, and music as a writer, editor, and sports and entertainment director. He also coaches basketball and bowling for Special Olympics.
Mariana Loizaga
Mariana Loizaga, from Mexico City, is a lawyer and writer with an MSc in International Relations from the University of Surrey. She has been a writer for over ten years, including contributing to Inside Survivor and now to Surviving Tribal. Mariana's writing interests range from reviewing films, TV series, and books to gender studies, international politics, and Survivor, of course. She's been an avid fan of Survivor since 2013, when she discovered Survivor Philippines, and has since watched every Survivor US season, as well as from the show's Australian, New Zealand, South African, and Mexican versions. Mariana can always be found with a book, an iced coffee, and an endless list of writing projects, including her draft for her first novel.

About FanSided
The idea of FanSided was born in 2007, when two brothers felt that their favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs, was being under-covered by the mainstream media. Taking matters into their own hands, they launched Arrowhead Addict, a move that would spawn the creation of FanSided in 2009, a network of over 300+ fan-powered unique sports, entertainment and lifestyle sites dedicated to team-specific, sport-specific, genre-specific, and fanbase-specific coverage. From sports, movies and TV to lifestyle and tech, FanSided has you covered.
