The reason why Survivor has been airing for more than 25 years is because the reality show has been able to attract a truly passionate fan following. After all, many fans care about Jeff Probst's show so much that they do a lot more than just watch the series. Instead, many dedicated Survivor fans seek out as many behind-the-scenes facts about the show as they can, including as they learn about how the show's casting process works.
One underrated fact about Survivor is that several celebrities are part of the show's fan base. Now, a notable name has revealed that they have taken a major interest in who will be cast in future Survivor seasons. That is the case because Rachel Reilly has recently publicly restated her desire to compete during an upcoming season of Survivor.

Rachel Reilly continues to express her desire to compete on Survivor
For most people, there is very little in life that is as scary as being rejected or facing public humiliation. As a result, the vast majority of people do what they can to mitigate their possible exposure to any of those frightening scenarios. That makes the fact that Rachel Reilly has recently put herself at risk of facing both of those things so remarkable.
During a recent TV Insider interview, Reilly told the outlet why she wants to compete on Survivor and admitted to being hopeful that will happen in the future.
“I would love to test my mental fortitude and my skills on Survivor, out on that island. So, I’m hoping for that to happen. That would be really exciting.”
Thanks to Reilly commenting again on her desire to compete on the show, she has risked the world knowing that the team behind Survivor rejected her if she never competes on the show. For a reality show icon like her, being rejected by a major casting team like that would likely feel like a public humiliation.
Reilly has been very outspoken about wanting to compete on Survivor. As a result of repeatedly making her push to compete on Survivor public in the past, it is clear that Reilly being rejected is a very real possibility.
While being interviewed when he attended the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, Jeff Probst commented on her push to get on the show by saying that Reilly won't get any special treatment from the casting team.
"Well, first she’s got to apply. She’s got to want it bad enough to send in a little two-minute video and say 'Here’s why I should be on.' There’s no secret passage way to getting on Survivor," Probst said.
On the bright side for Reilly, Probst went on to state she could still appear on Survivor in the future. "I think she's got a shot. Yeah."
As an October 2025 Parade article summarized, Reilly responded to Probst's comments with a post on her Instagram Stories. After sharing the video of Probst's red carpet remarks, Reilly expressed that she would be crafting an audition video. "Working on that [audition] tape this week!"
If Reilly doesn't wind up competing on Survivor, that will be a huge mistake for the team behind the show. Already a huge deal in reality show circles, Reilly has many fans from the times that she competed on shows like Big Brother, The Amazing Race, and The Traitors, who would likely watch her on Survivor. More importantly, Reilly has proven during her tenures on those shows that she knows how to entertain viewers.
