It feels like all anyone is talking about right now is Survivor 50 casting and which players will be returning to the game, especially after a few players officially confirmed their involvement with the landmark season via social media.
And amongst the chaos of "will they / won't they," the Survivor Godfather himself decided to throw his own confession out there for everyone to speculate on:
Now, this is not the first time Boston Rob Mariano has alluded to participating in the 25th anniversary, but it is the first time he's made such a bold claim on April Fools' Day...
Is it a prank? Or is it premeditation?
It's no surprise that the man who's played the most days of Survivor in history has been on almost everyone's list to return. And with the season's theme—"In the Hands of Fans"—it would make sense Jeff Probst and the casting team are taking into account the players that the fans are vying for.
While, yes, this was posted on April 1, Boston Rob clearly knows how the game is played and maybe this is a legit tease wrapped up in a "just kidding" bow that he will in fact be involved in the season in some capacity—I've previously brainstormed multiple ways he could appear without playing.
And Boston Rob's not the only former castaway playing with us
As past players started coming out of the woodwork to share they will not be involved, we've also seen an uptick in other multi-season players declaring they are joining the cast of Survivor 50. Most notably, Kass McQuillen (Survivor: Cagayan; Survivor: Cambodia) and Tyson Apostol (Survivor: Tocantins; Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains; Survivor: Blood vs. Water; Survivor: Winners at War) have shared their own statements.
Yes, and I win.

After being led to believe I would definitely not be on season 50 due to over 5 years of no contact, Survivor called me out of the blue last week to confirm I will be on season 50.

While Rob's post was a little more vague, we can pretty much assume Kass and Tyson's tweets were shared in levity, not as potential clues for what's to come.
But the jury is still out on whether or not we'll see Boston Rob returning to Fiji. What do you think? Is his post a prank or proof?
