CBS's Road to Survivor 50 continues tonight, Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, with another classic and iconic episode of the hit reality series.
After watching Cirie Fields work her magic in Survivor: Micronesia, we're going back to Survivor: Tocantins, the 18th season of Survivor, for an exceptional episode featuring Benjamin "Coach" Wade, also known as the Dragon Slayer.
"The Martyr Approach," was the 13th episode of the season set in the Brazilian Highlands, and it features the Final Five from that season: Coach, J.T, Stephen Fishbach, Taj Johnson-George, and Erinn Lobdell.
Coach is returning for Survivor 50 on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, and it's so interesting that they chose this episode to showcase him, considering he has so many more memorable moments in Heroes vs. Villains and South Pacific, where he finished runner-up.
With that said, this is the season that introduces fans to the Dragon Slayer, and this episode is a good one!

The Dragon Slayer gets "dragon-slayed"
During the episode, Coach takes center stage because of how he makes the other players feel. And, this is something that Coach has battled during every season he played the game. Somehow, he falls in with the Warriors Alliance with J.T., Tyson Apostol, who was already voted out, and Stephen, and they reach the Final Five, but then Coach becomes somewhat of a liability to the alliance.
As you may remember or will see during the episode, Coach is sent to Exile, which was one of the twists during this season. The winner of the reward challenges, I believe, would send another player to Exile to live alone until the immunity challenge.
Coach makes a big fuss about not wanting to go to Exile, and when J.T. sends him there, Coach decides he's not going to eat or drink, which leads to him being called out by Erinn for being a martyr, basically.
Later, Coach loses immunity, collapses on the ground, and makes a big show before he's voted out at the next Tribal Council.
In the episode, you get to see a little bit of everything from Coach and what he brings to the table. By this time in the game, though, he had thoroughly torched his own game. After the merge, Coach felt like he was in control of the game, but really, the partnership between J.T. and Stephen, who finish as the winner and runner-up, respectively, is what controls the game.
This is such a great episode for fans, but it's definitely not one of Coach's stronger moments in the game. Luckily, we get two more episodes featuring Coach this week before Survivor 50, too!
Watch Coach's episode of the Road to Survivor 50 on CBS at 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Feb. 10. There wil be one old episode of Survivor airing on CBS every weekday from Feb. 9 to Feb. 20 to prepare fans for the biggest season in the show's history.
