Ever since Jeff Probst revealed that Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans would have an All-Star cast, there has been a lot of discussion among fans about the possibilities. After the cast for the upcoming landmark season was confirmed, fans were discussing things like the feuds they hoped to see. When Jeff Probst praised the season's cast, I wrote about why I found his comments worrisome due to their possible implications for the season.
While many fans have had strong opinions about what may happen during Survivor 50, it ultimately will be the season's players who will decide if the season will be great and who will win.
With that in mind, it makes perfect sense for observers to consider what is known about each of the cast members. One perfect example of that is that fans should know about a remark that Christian Hubicki once made, which shows why he could win Survivor 50 or flop during the season.

Christian Hubicki's analytical personality could be a huge strength or a major weakness during Survivor 50
After he was seen being voted out during Survivor: David vs. Goliath, Christian Hubicki was interviewed by She Knows in December 2018. During that discussion, the Survivor 50 player was asked about how he felt when he learned that his main ally during the game, Gabby Pascuzzi, was turning on him. Throughout the history of Survivor, many players have been so deeply hurt by being betrayed during the game that their anger practically radiated off them during post-game interviews. On the other hand, Hubicki explained that he felt that Pascuzzi's decision made "perfect sense."
"Davie tells me, 'Gabby is coming for you. She feels like she has to make a move.' I thought, 'That makes perfect sense. Of course she is.' I always knew, at some point, Gabby would have to target me. I knew she wasn’t going to be a person who wanted to appear to have been dragged to the end. I wasn’t dragging her; we were strategic partners. The problem was, I kept absorbing the credit for these moves, which I did not want. I did not need credit for the moves that I was involved in. People just kind of gave it to me because I’m the guy with glasses. So, of course she targeted me. I thought she probably believed I would see it coming at five, six or seven, but not at the final eight. It makes sense she’d come for me."
Based on everything that is known about Hubicki, that response seems totally fitting for how he views the world. For example, any of Hubicki's appearances on the Rob Has a Podcast podcast series will show how he often speaks about the game from an analytical or mathematical prism. While it is hard to predict how that could affect his Survivor 50 chances, it is easy to imagine how Hubicki's perspective could lead to overwhelming success or complete failure.
On the bright side, the fact that Hubicki can take a betrayal completely in stride could help him immensely during Survivor 50. After all, the returning players will likely want to cement their legacies by making big moves, which could cause overreactions that doom others. Based on that quote, it seems very clear that Hubicki almost certainly won't fall victim to that.
Unfortunately, if Hubicki doesn't speak about the game like connections matter, that may hinder his ability to build the bonds he will need to win the game. Don't get me wrong, it is totally clear that Hubicki was beloved by many of his Survivor: David vs. Goliath tribemates, and he also very obviously cared deeply about them. Still, if Hubicki speaks about his allies during the game in a way that was similar to how he spoke during that interview, that could lead to his downfall.
