As we begin the one month countdown to Survivor 51’s premiere on Wednesday, September 23, there are so many questions about how to access the premiere episode in preparation of another exciting new season. Because if there’s one thing we know about the internet, it’s that it’s way more fun to watch Survivor live or next-day in order to join the community of fans online talking about the latest episode.
But, as a millennial, I also understand that not everyone has a cable TV subscription and not everyone has access to every streaming platform. So to make things as easy as possible for fans and new viewers as we get close to the upcoming premiere, we’ve put together an easy guide to help you navigate the best way for you to experience the continued adventure of Survivor.
Paramount+ & CBS
Obviously, the most streamlined way to watch Survivor is directly through its broadcasting provider. While Survivor airs live on Wednesdays on CBS, for those of us who don’t have cable, you can also access a live feed of the series via Paramount+. You can catch a stream of your local CBS affiliate channel live via the Paramount+ Premium subscription which will allow you to watch live with the rest of your time zone without setting up a full-fledged cable package.
And before signing up for the platform, check the services you’re already paying for to see if you’re eligible for a free Paramount+ membership. There are actually quite a few services that include free access to some of the most popular streaming platforms available now. Check your phone plan, your internet plan, and even the membership plans that you already have with your favorite stores.
You can also watch livestreams of your local CBS affiliate channel via subscriptions with other platforms like YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, FuboTV, and DirecTV Stream.
Free Next-Day Streaming
The most affordable option (because it’s literally free) is streaming new episodes online the next day on CBS.com and the official CBS App.
For a limited time, new episodes are available to watch for everyone, even if you don’t have an account, subscription, or TV provider credentials. The window is usually 2-3 weeks per episode, which means that while you can’t binge the entire season for free the day before the finale, if you want to keep up with the series week-to-week, you have complete free access to each episode beginning Thursday mornings—usually somewhere between 12am and 3am ET.
