In the modern media landscape, it seems like many celebrities will go to great lengths to avoid saying anything that could upset any observers. However, one of the things that makes Jeff Probst remarkable is that the Survivor host always seems to be so forthright during his interviews. As a result, following what Jeff has to say during interviews has always been one of the most interesting parts of being a fan of his iconic reality show.
One of the topics that Survivor fans have always seemed to talk about the most is who the greatest players ever have been. Since topics like that are so highly debatable, there are fans who have very different perspectives on who should be considered to be Survivor's GOATs. Now, those fans who love debating that topic can consider who Jeff thinks the show's best players of all-time are.
Jeff Probst named Survivor's four greatest players ever

In September 2025, Jeff Probst was interviewed by The Hollywood Reporter about what viewers should expect from Survivor 49. During that discussion, the interviewer also asked the reality show's host about other topics related to the series. One of the questions that the host was asked was about who he thought should be on Survivor's Mount Rushmore. In response, Jeff named who he thinks are Survivor's four best players ever.
"That’s easy – Tony, Rob, Parvati, Sandra," Jeff said.
When fans discuss who should be on Survivor's Mount Rushmore, there are other players who will almost certainly be part of the conversation. For example, Richard Hatch influencing virtually every Survivor player who competed after him, and his status as the show's first winner and premiere villain will likely come up. Similarly, Cirie Fields being one of the best players ever, even though she hasn't won, merits her being part of the discussion.
Still, while Richard, Cirie, and other names could come up in that discussion, it is pretty hard to argue against "Boston" Rob Mariano, Sandra Diaz-Twine, Parvati Shallow, and Tony Vlachos being part of Survivor's Mount Rushmore. After all, Boston Rob is extremely respected, and he is widely regarded as Survivor's most famous player. On top of that, Tony, Sandra, and Parvati all won the game twice, if you count Parvati winning Australian Survivor, and they are strategic masterminds.
Still, Jeff naming those four as Survivor's all-time greats does beg an interesting question. Why does it seem like Boston Rob was the only one of them to be asked about Survivor 50?
After all, Rob stated he wanted someone else to play, but Parvati, Tony, and Sandra haven't indicated they were contacted about the landmark season. In fact, Jeff even publicly explained Parvati's Survivor 50 absence.
