The Hollywood Walk of Fame has spoken! Survivor’s host and showrunner has been named one of eight “extraordinary individuals” in the category of television who has made a “lasting impact on audiences around the world through their talent, creativity, and dedication to their craft.”
That’s right, after 26 years at the helm of Survivor, Jeff Probst is finally getting the ultimate recognition: a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! Whether you work in the industry or not, you know that this is a massive recognition, specifically reserved for those who have made “remarkable contributions” in the fields of motion pictures, television, recording, live theatre/live performance, sports entertainment, and radio.

While the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2027 announced they’re naming 32 new stars next year, Probst is one of eight entertainers specifically being honored for their work in television. In the category with him are David Alan Grier, Lisa Kudrow, Bill Lawrence, Pedro Pascal, Adam Scott, Keke Palmer, and Raven-Symoné. All huge names in their own rights, just as Jeff is!
And Probst’s upcoming star isn’t just a personal achievement for the host and showrunner. This will mark a permanent monument to Survivor’s cultural footprint. While Probst has accomplished much more than Survivor in his career, this honor comes at a time when Survivor 50 is being highly recognized for the impact it had on the reality competition show structure this year as well as just a reminder of the show’s influence over 26 years.
Survivor producer Mark Burnett received the 2,387th star on the Walk back in July of 2009, but that was encompassing all his production work, not Survivor specifically. So this honor for Probst cements much more than his own legacy amongst the stars. It solidifies a future for Survivor’s historic run, proving that after decades on the island, Probst remains the ultimate TV host and someone worth tuning into week-after-week.
While no official date for Probst’s star ceremony has been announced, as a member of the Class of 2027, we expect this will likely take place a couple weeks before the premiere of Survivor 52 or Survivor 53 next year in order to maximize the press engagement with the show’s release. But recipients have two years to schedule star ceremonies from the date of selection before they expire, so it’s also possible we won’t see Probst get his star until 2028 depending on scheduling.
