Nobody is talking about the strange claim made by a Survivor 49 player

A strange and overlooked quote from Survivor 49 contestant Shannon Fairweather should be raising eyebrows among fans who missed the odd moment in her profile interview.
“The Devil’s Shoes” – A major shakeup hits the game when two tribes turn to three. New tribe members size each other up, but with only four players on each tribe, there is not much room to hide. Then, heat and exhaustion take a major toll on one castaway, on SURVIVOR, Wednesday, Oct. 29 . Pictured (L-R): Shannon Fairweather. Photo: Robert Voets/CBS ©2025 CBS Broadcasting, Inc. When casual fans solely watch Survivor 49 episodes, they may feel like they are getting the whole experience. However, the most dedicated followers of Jeff Probst's show should already know that things related to the show happen and can add a lot.

On top of the post-game interviews and events adding to the Survivor experience, some fascinating things happen with the players before the game starts that fans should know about. In fact, one of Survivor 49's most unique players said something during a pre-game interview that a lot more of the show's fans should know and be talking about.

“Cinema” – Reality and hunger begin to take their toll as the castaways grapple with their limited resources to find food on the island. Generational differences come into sharp focus as some castaways find it challenging to keep up with the younger players’ current lingo. Survivor 49's Shannon Fairweather made a shocking claim before the game started

Before each season of Survivor begins, the players are asked a series of questions about their lives, their views on the game, and how they expect to perform on the show. Then, the players' most interesting answers are gathered and released as profiles to introduce them to the show's fans. In August 2025, Entertainment Weekly published the profiles for the Survivor 49 cast.

As part of the questions that Shannon Fairweather answered, she was asked to reveal some things that people wouldn't know by looking at her. In response, Fairweather mentioned several interesting facts about herself, many of which could have warranted their own conversations.

"My family owns a 4-floor sports bar in Boston (that Boston Rob worked at). When I was 17, doctors found cancer in my bladder (did not have to do chemo). I used to be on antidepressants before I found my love for travel, meditation & God. I remember being in the womb. Virgo sun, Libra moon, Gemini rising LOL."

Since Fairweather made several statements during that answer, it would be understandable if one of her claims didn't register with readers. That said, Survivor fans should take a moment to consider the fact that Fairweather claims to remember her time in the womb.

Fairweather is far from the first person who has made that claim. For example, Nicolas Cage told People in May 2023 that he feels like he could remember his time in the womb, though he admitted that he can't be sure those memories are real.

"I know this sounds really far out and I don't know if it's real or not but sometimes I think I can go all the way back to in utero and feeling like I could see faces in the dark or something."

While others have made the same claim, it seems wild that there hasn't been much discourse among Survivor fans about Fairweather thinking she recalls being in the womb. After all, at the very least, it is a fascinating claim that could inspire interesting conversation among people who might believe or utterly dismiss what she said.
