One of the best things to come out of Survivor 50 was the friendship between Rick Devens and Christian Hubicki. We were lucky enough to have both iconic players land on the Cila beach at the start of the game, forming a chaotic bond that immediately captured the attention and hearts of viewers at home.
Legends in their own rights—Christian for the hysterical way he won an immunity challenge back in Survivor: David vs. Goliath, and Devens for his incredible idol play back in Survivor: Edge of Extinction—the two coming together for Survivor 50 was just the cherry on top of an already exciting anniversary season.
Already known for their antics, the two brought a level of chaos to their already savvy strategies in order to ruffle a few feathers on their way to the end. And while Christian’s game was cut short thanks to a terrible Jimmy Fallon twist—I’m truly still not over it…— and Devens unfortunately wasn’t able to score an immunity idol to help him get to the finale, they still has some of the best edits of the season and made for awesome TV.
Even Jeff Probst called their big fake idol play a “really clever idea,” which means we wouldn’t be surprised if other reality shows came knocking on the duo’s door. Namely, The Amazing Race, which has been known to share contestants with Survivor back-and-forth—both Survivor pulling Race contestants and vice versa.
Fans would love to see Rick Devens and Christian Hubicki compete together on The Amazing Race.
Of course, this is not confirmed and is merely a rumor, but we’re hoping there’s a little bit of truth in it. Supposedly, the two have been approached about competing on the award-winning reality competition show together and—if that has indeed happened—we hope they say yes and take the adventure together.
After Survivor 50 fans can’t get enough of Devens and Christian, so getting the two on another competition show where they get to be their fun, quirky selves while using smarts and skill to travel across the world would be the perfect way to follow up their latest milestone season of Survivor.
While the upcoming fall season of The Amazing Race is already wrapped and in post-production (most likely), a new season usually airs at the beginning of spring each year and there would still be time to cast Devens and Christian for next year’s new season…
So to The Amazing Race casting director—who is literally also the casting director for Survivor—just a heads up that fans would love to see our favorite Survivor 50 dynamic duo back in action on a race around the world. Think about it (if you aren’t already)!
