There’s a common saying that goes, “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.” But what happens when that happens four times across four different reality shows? Well, that’s exactly what happened to the latest jury member on Survivor 50, Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick, regarding Cirie Fields, as Fields once again demonstrated her mist prowess, as LaGrossa continuously bought what Fields sold her to her ultimate demise.
Let’s back track a little bit before going into the details, though. LaGrossa’s fourth Survivor run had its ups and downs, but it was shaped by her having a majority alliance with other old school-type players. One by one, her allies were eliminated, though, particularly as they kept trusting Fields to be with them when, in reality, Fields was more closely aligned with her two allies, Oscar “Ozzy” Lusth and Rizo “Rizgod” Velovic.

In episode 10, LaGrossa still considered Fields and Lusth to be in her corner, as well as Joe Hunter and Jonathan Young, but after Fields was informed of this faction’s plans to go against Lusth, Fields immediately went on the defensive. At Tribal Council, after Rick Devens managed to get safety via the MrBeast twist (flipping a coin to either get safety or get eliminated), LaGrossa tried to rally the troops against Aubry Bracco and even used her Steal-a-Vote advantage to steal Devens' vote and to vote against Bracco.
Unfortunately for LaGrossa, Devens had also thrown her and her allies under the bus in a very public, condemning manner during Tribal, leaving them no choice but to save themselves, and Hunter and Young joined in voting out LaGrossa in a unanimous vote. LaGrossa was promptly eliminated and became the fifth member of the jury.
After playing together on Survivor: Heroes vs Villains, Snake in the Grass, and The Traitors, where Fields repeatedly kept getting the upper hand on LaGrossa, pretty much everyone assumed that LaGrossa wouldn’t trust Fields during Survivor 50, regardless of any circumstance. However, we were startled (only slightly, as Field’s mist is pretty much unmatched at this point) to see that LaGrossa kept doing exactly that to, once again, her eventual demise.
Unsurprisingly, this was one of the first questions asked of LaGrossa during her exit press interviews. Mike Bloom for Parade questioned why LaGrossa kept trusting Fields after everything that had transpired between them, both in the past and during the season.
“I thought we were solid,” LaGrossa replied before unveiling Field’s comments that kept LaGrossa locked in with her, “You're like family, Steph. We’re going to the end. It’s going to be like me and Parv [Parvati Shallow].”
We all know about the close bond that exists between Fields and Shallow as they’ve also played Survivor together several times, and where Fields was instrumental for Shallow’s wins during Survivor: Micronesia- Fans vs Favorites and Australian Survivor: Australia V The World.
“She’s good. She’s good at what she does. And I believed her,” LaGrossa remarked.

LaGrossa also revealed why she didn’t throw Young under the bus after Devens was safe and she was in the hot seat.
“That’s just not who I am,” she replied, explaining that he was the only guy left she could trust and wouldn’t do that to her closest ally.
Lastly, LagGrossa also disclosed she came clean to Fields and Lusth about their names getting thrown out before Tribal, and she warned them that if they didn’t keep her as a shield, they would be the next to leave. LaGrossa tried to emphasize her point by saying she said the same thing to Fields back in Heroes vs Villains, where Fields was voted out after LaGrossa; however, if this turns out to be a spoiler, production might not be happy to have one of their most controversial casting choices this season revealing a week beforehand what’s happening in the future.
