Tonight’s the night we’ve been waiting for! Whether you’re nervous to see how things go when MrBeast arrives on the island or you’re excited to welcome back the Survivor auction, it’s surely going to be an eventful night.

Especially since episode 10, “A Side Dish of Chaos,” is giving us a little extra airtime this week with two hours of game instead of the usual 90 minutes. Considering the backlash the show received after half of the last celebrity cameo episode was spent focused on Zac Brown instead of gameplay, it’s nice to see them responding by extending the latest outside appearance episode so we don’t lose any strategic moments.

And with 10 players left in the game—after the intense Jimmy Fallon journey sent Christian Hubicki home—there’s no doubt tonight will feature some big gameplay potential. As we’ve already seen in some new sneak peeks, Emily Flippen and Rick Devens are both feeling on the outside. And as two of the most chaotic strategic players in the game, will they take this as an opportunity to blow it up on their way out? (Or maybe even shake things up so much they end up back on top?)

When returning players look back, it means they’re looking ahead

Ozzy Lusth starts mentioning that the original Cila tribe is starting to implode. He reminisces that in the past he would have been voted out, but this season he’s done the work to set himself up socially to have protection in the game. He confronts Emily about her betrayal and she apologizes, but is clearly upset that she was on the outside of a vote—for the first time in her Survivor career.

He then approaches Devens, calling him a back stabber and accusing him of not actually having an idol. But Devens, now acknowledging he’s on the bottom, connects with Emily, calling them “two psychopaths out here who have literally nothing to lose.” He also reflects back on his prior season and notes that the reason he made it so far is because his tribe mates let him know he was on the bottom, which drove him into chaos survival mode. He realizes he might be a tribe of one now, but he’s all-in on making moves.

The next morning, Aubry Bracco has the realization that it feels like they’re farther in the game than they are with 10 people left. She’s trying to figure out how to use all of the remaining players to best set herself up to make it to the end.

Devens, while everyone is at camp, reveals his idol and tells them it’s called “The Pocketsquare Idol,” unwrapping it to show them it’s not actually an idol. He comes forward with the truth to start stirring. Joe Hunter is upset not only at how deceptive he’s being, but at how proud he is for being deceptive. His goal is now to get Devens out, his top enemy in the game.

The Survivor auction is back in action!

Host Jeff Probst, standing behind a huge auction table, welcomes in the final 10 players to the Survivor 50 auction. Everyone is so excited to see it back and some players are excited to be a part of it for the first time.

Returning to the old school format of the auction, players are all given $500 to start. No one is at risk of losing their vote and any money they don’t spend they get to keep. They can share money, but they can’t share food unless it’s pre-determined as part of the item. He says that every auction item is either comfort, chaos, or both—meaning that just because something looks good doesn’t mean something back isn’t lurking behind it.

The first item is french fries and onion rings. It goes to Devens for $160. Emily then gets a milkshake for $100 and Jonathan Young gets hummus and dippables for $80. None of them get chaos with their comfort.

But then Jeff reveals the first covered item saying it’s a two-person shared item. One person has to buy it then choose who to share it with. Aubry gets it for $280 and shares it with Rizo Velovic. Jeff then unveils it to show two more blind items and says they both get the comfort if one of them completes the chaos in under two minutes. Aubry and Rizo will get chocolate chip cookies with milk to share, but have to eat two grubs. Aubry jumps right in and eats both grubs (because Rizo doesn’t want to eat weird stuff).

A montage of more items pass as Cirie Fields gets a blanket, toothpaste and mouthwash, and Stephenie gets grilled cheese and lemonade. But then a two-part two-person shared items is revealed and goes to Jonathan for $320 who then shares it with Ozzy—one item is chaos, one is comfort. Jonathan chooses who gets which and then whoever gets chaos has to complete it for the other to get comfort. Ozzy gets fried chicken and mashed potatoes if Jonathan can eat a sea slug in under two minutes. He struggles, but gets through it.

Another montage of items before Jeff finally pulls out the biggest item. Everyone has to buy in for $20 to share it. It’s blind item and either the best comfort item or the biggest chaotic item of the season. It’s letters from home. After everyone buys in, he alludes that this is traditionally the last item of the auction, but he also reveals that the comfort gets an equal dose of chaos and brings out MrBeast.

MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson) walks in with a briefcase and shares how much he loves Survivor and how excited he is to be a part of season 50. Jeff says that MrBeast created the chaos himself and teases it as the “MrBeast Super Beware Advantage.” It won’t be opened until Tribal Council, though. He walks off with the briefcase, noting he’ll be back with it later that night.

Jeff says he’ll send their letters back to camp because they all have to immediately turn around for an immunity challenge.

Stuffed statues fight for immunity

Everyone, after eating themselves full enough that Cirie even got sick, walks around the corner to jump right into an immunity challenge. In a classic Survivor challenge, players have to balance on a beam while keeping a ball steady on a handheld arch.

Stephenie falls out after a few seconds. Rizo falls out next. Everyone remaining makes it to the next section after lasting 5 minutes. Cirie drops out quickly after the reset followed by Aubry. Both Joe and Devens start to struggle, continuing to balance back to center, but officially make it past the 10 minute mark to reset at the final section.

Unfortunately, Devens falls during the transition and then can’t hold himself in it. Emily falls out next with Jonathan not too far behind. Five minutes into the final section, Joe drops leaving Tiffany Ervin vs. Ozzy. After a stumble, Ozzy steps off and Tiffany wins immunity. She immediately throws herself to the ground, crying that with immunity she’ll be able to outlast her game on Survivor 46, having been voted out on day 19 last time.

Strategizing with a full heart but a monkey on your back

With the unknown certainty of the MrBeast Super Beware Advantage looming over them, everyone returns to camp ready to plan. But first, they get a chance to go off and read their letters. They instantly give our castaways renewed vigor to play.

Aubry connects with Stephenie and Jonathan, mentioning that there are idols in the game that need to be flushed. Jonathan understands that Devens might not be the right move because Ozzy is actually the bigger threat. He says his game has changed and he’s playing less physically and more strategically and Jonathan doesn’t like that.

He tells Stephenie that Ozzy dropped her name—which he didn’t—in order to get her on board. Those three approach Devens, which of course he’s fine with. Jonathan asks him to get Emily in on the vote and says he’ll get Joe. But when Joe is approached, he’s conflicted because he wants Devens out but also understands that Ozzy could beat everyone in the end.

Then Joe turns around and approaches Cirie and Tiffany about voting Ozzy. But Cirie doesn’t plan on letting that happen. Then Stephenie comes up to Cirie to see what her plan is and Cirie is upset that she lies straight to her face. So Cirie pulls in Ozzy and decides Stephenie needs to go next, because if she gets rid of Ozzy, Cirie will be next on the chopping block.

Ozzy circles back to Jonathan and—for real this time—drops Stephenie’s name. Jonathan is nervous that Ozzy knows about the plan now and tells Stephenie that everyone’s coming for her. She talks about using her steal a vote and then gets up in Cirie’s face, confronting her about coming after her.

Knowing Ozzy has an idol and will likely play it now, Stephenie suggests Cirie to Devens who turns around and says they should do Rizo instead, flushing his idol. Of course, with all of this in the air—Devens, Ozzy, Stephenie, Cirie, Aubry, and Rizo’s names have all been dropped—there’s still the MrBeast Super Beware Advantage in play that could blow everything up even further.

It’s so chaotic that at some point Jonathan literally says Tiffany instead of Stephenie when talking about the vote to Rizo. And with Devens partially being at the center of everything, he’s ready to make Tribal Council even more chaotic by throwing people under the bus to make sure he’s safe.

Tribal Council fit for a MrBeast

Jeff recaps the day, leading up to Cirie explaining that the conversations surrounding the uncertainty of MrBeast’s twist lead to names being dropped every 30 seconds. But Joe jumps in to say they shouldn’t even be thinking about the beware advantage, they should just be planning without the fear

Devens jumps in and recounts the entire day from his POV: Stephenie and Jonathan approach him about getting out Ozzy, but then changing it to Cirie after things went down, so Devens throws out Rizo’s name which leads to Stephenie revealing she has a steal a vote. Jonathan says that Devens is lying and then Stephenie says that Aubry and Devens were the ones who approached them about getting Ozzy out.

Aubry calls her out and Devens continues to back up his story. Cirie then starts cracking up saying if you don’t laugh you’re gonna cry because today has been insane and she has no idea what’s going on.

Rizo then calls out Stephenie and says it’s ridiculous to say she’s never gonna throw out a name because it’s Survivor. He says it’s not a good plan to back track on what you want. He commends Devens for saying he wants to vote him out, that makes him believe him. He says if you want someone out, own it, play your game proudly and own the consequences of the truth being revealed.

This causes everyone else to start whispering to each other, and Jeff calls out that the MrBeast Super Beware Advantage hasn’t even been revealed yet. All this chaos is exploding simply because there’s a known unknown.

He calls in MrBeast with the briefcase and excitedly opens to show what’s inside. It’s a coin with one side being MrBeast’s logo and the other side are torches to represent Survivor. One person will get to flip it and if it lands on the side they call, they get immunity tonight, an immunity idol, and the prize money is doubled. But if it doesn’t land on the side they call, the money stays the same and no one is voted out because the person who flipped it will go home.

Jeff says that the game now is for them to convince one person to flip the coin, but if they don’t everyone—except Tiffany—will have to draw rocks to reveal who is flipping. Devens immediately volunteers to flip it, but everyone is a little wary, not wanting to give him immunity or an idol. When Jeff asks if there’s anyone who doesn’t want Devens to flip it, Aubry is hesitant because she’s nervous that if Devens is safe, the votes could land on her.

As Jeff starts to ask her about how she’s feeling, but she interrupts and tells Devens to do it. He has absolutely no fear going into it. Jeff hands Devens the coin as MrBeast stands next to him. He picks heads (the MrBeast side)—though Rizo said to pick tails (the Survivor side). Devens flips the coin and it lands heads up. Devens is safe, gets an idol, and doubles the prize money.

Jeff announces that Tribal Council is back on and everyone immediately stands and starts whispering to each other. After everyone has settled, Stephenie plays her steal a vote and takes Devens vote.

Who was voted out of Survivor 50 episode 10?

After all the chaos, the majority vote lands on Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick making her the 15th player voted out and the 5th member of the jury. Even on her way out she defends that the Ozzy vote was not her idea and she shouldn’t have been blamed for it.

Next Time on Survivor…

After another shake up that doubled the prize money, the game will be more alive than ever. Devens has new life with his idol—that might be the first standard idol in the game, putting much more power in his pocket than either Ozzy or Rizo have with either of their Billie Eilish Boomerang Idols. But as Survivor 50 draws closer to an end, it’s clear nothing is predictable anymore. See what happens next on Wednesday, May 6 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+.
