After the first tribal council of Survivor 48 saw Vula voting out Stephanie, it was back to camp to discuss the vote. And Sai definitely wanted to hear from Mary after her name was written down. While Vula is supposedly all good with each other, there is definitely tension among the tribe or at the very least between Sai and Mary.

Over at the Civa tribe, it was all about figuring out each other's humble traits. From messed up feet to warts and a speech impediment, this feels like a tribe that has truly bonded with each other. This feels like a Survivor tribe that has figured out how to work together.

Then we have the Lagi tribe. For Star, it is clear that she needs something more to stay safe. So she went off on a hunt and ended up finding her beach's Beware Advantage. In order to solve the puzzle, she needs help so she goes to Joe for assistance. Joe pulls in Shauhin to help get the idol out of the puzzle.

Star finds the Lagi tribe Beware Advantage and it leads to tribal drama

Now it is a matter of whether or not Shauhin will actually help Star to get her idol. And even he seems to be questioning how he is going to use this to his advantage. But it seems like Star is not keeping things quiet, as she tells Bianca and Thomas that she found the Beware Advantage and Thomas tries to convince Shauhin to get rid of the key that helps solve the puzzle.

Star admits that the person she wants out is Eva, but Joe has a connection with Eva and doesn't want to betray her. So Joe goes to Eva to tell her what is going on. Now it is everyone trying to figure out what to do, especially as Star doesn't have a vote until she breaks open that puzzle.

And back at Vula, the men are talking about who goes next. It seems that it is between Mary and Sai, but of course, we all know that Sai has an idol.

With boats heading to the tribes, it is time for a Survivor 48 journey.

We have Beware Advantages, idols, and a journey in play, but what does that mean for the second tribal of the season?

Kevin is the second player voted out of Survivor 48

Vula is not a cohesive tribe. Supposedly there is an alliance, but we all know that has fallen apart. So it comes as no surprise that by the end of the tribal council, there were votes for Sai and Kevin. And of course, Sai played her idol so she was safe.

Having Cedrek go to Sai ahead of the tribal council to protect her from a possible vote against her meant that Kevin was truly done at that point because there was no way she was going to keep him around after he threw her name out. So while she may want Mary out of the game, it was almost guaranteed that she was going to shoot her shot and get Kevin out.

So how did we get to this point for Vula?

There are three different advantages up for grabs on this Survivor journey

Mitch, Thomas, and Mary meet up at the journey beach. And as we all know, there is an advantage up for grabs. Each player has to wander off to play their own games separately. It is all about getting three rows of numbers in the correct order and if they don't do it before the timer runs out, they lose their vote.

Mitch is able to make it happen pretty quickly, and that means that he has won an advantage and kept his vote. Thomas is able to get his numbers in order next and wins an advantage as well. Sadly, Mary loses her vote, unable to get the numbers in order before the sand runs out on her timer.

Mitch wins a block-a-vote advantage. For Thomas, he wins a steal-a-vote advantage.

Back at their tribes, all three Survivor players give their stories of what the journey entailed. Thomas doesn't tell his tribe about his advantage. Instead, he tells them that he chose not to play the game so he could keep his vote. On the other hand, Mitch tells his entire tribe that he won an advantage and he tells them exactly what his advantage is. Unfortunately, David and Kyle seem to be worried about Mitch and the way he is playing the game. This leads to a hunt for the Civa Beware Advantage.

Kyle ends up finding the Beware Advantage while searching with David. So now they are on the hunt for the answers they need to get the idol. Kyle goes to Kamilla to help him solve the puzzle lock. And not only is she able to solve it, but she gets Kyle his vote back.

The Immunity and Reward Challenge takes our players out into the water

Humble Traits
“Humble Traits” – A frantic idol hunt could save or ruin one castaway’s game. A castaway’s quick decision making must outlast the test of time when three castaways are sent on a journey. It's a race to the top of a tower before jumping into the water to release two buoys underwater and get them into a tray. That first player has to get to a platform before the other players can start. Then two players at a time will climb the tower, jump in, and get the buoys over a balance beam before getting into the water and swimming with their buoy to the platform.

Lagi takes the lead in this one, with Vula really struggling. But this is Survivor and it is anyone's game. Sadly for Vula, they simply could not figure out this challenge at all. This leaves Lagi and Civa both fighting for the immunity and rewards. And with an almost come from behind moment, Mitch ends up winning the larger reward and the immunity for Civa. And pretty quickly, Lagi wins the second immunity and a smaller reward.

Vula couldn't even get their buoys to the platform. And so it came as no surprise that they lost this challenge.

This means that it is Vula heading back to the tribal council.

Vula creates drama ahead of the tribal council as everyone is coming for everyone else

Back at the beach Cedrek, tells his tribe that he knows that he was the reason that they lost this challenge. But Kevin makes it clear to him that he is 100% percent with Cedrek and he wants the vote to go on Sai. And Mary doesn't have a vote, so she needs someone else to save her. However, Cedrek doesn't want to get Sai out, so he goes to her and tells her about Kevin coming from her. Now Cedrek and Justin are talking about taking out Kevin after Sai tells Justin that he doesn't trust Kevin.

At this point, the only person who is guaranteed to come back to the Vula beach is Sai if she plays her idol. But it certainly seems like Mary and Kevin are targets for this tribal council.

Even at the tribal council, it quickly becomes clear that there is no trust between Vula. And Sai is not playing around anymore.

Now that Vula is down to four players, will they be able to pull things together to win a challenge going forward? Or are they still so fractured that they will end up heading to tribal council again? Only time will tell.
