After Survivor 49 episode 4's loud and social Tribal Council, Jason Treul was left on the bottom of the new Hina tribe, but now that his torch is officially lit, so is his fighting spirit.

In a new clip giving a first look at the upcoming episode 5 of Survivor 49, "I'm a Wolf, Baby," Jason realizes exactly what his place in the game is and makes a plan to change it. Watch below.

Noticing his lone yellow torch after coming back to the Hina camp from Tribal Council, Jason knows he's in the hardest spot in the game. So he comes up with a plan to socialize with everyone on his new tribe in a way that can start the game fresh without the previous status of Hina, Uli, or Kele dangling over anyone by socializing and connecting with others. But that's easier said than done, especially after what went down last episode.

The Uli majority of Savannah Louie, Rizo Velovic, Nate Moore, and Jawan Pitts offered Jason the chance to show he was open to working with them—and their Kele adoptee Sophi Balerdi—by voting off Matt Williams last week. But rather than accept their offer, he basically shared he was okay with voting off Matt, but in the long run was going to remain Hina strong. This didn't go over well with the former red tribe members, who felt it wasn't smart of Jason to remain loyal to a group of people who weren't currently playing the game with him and who technically had yet to play the game with him since they'd never attended a Tribal Council together.

So if Jason's plan of attack in episode 5 is to kill them with kindness, it might be too late for that. He's already drawn his lines in the sand, and the tide isn't coming in any time soon to wash it away and force the Uli majority to forget about what happened. It would take a big mistake from one of their own members to keep Jason from going home if new Hina loses the next immunity challenge.

But since Jawan was already on the outs back at the old Uli camp, rather than trying to build himself up, maybe Jason should be more focused on driving a wedge between the red castaways and see if he can get Jawan even lower on the totem pole than he currently is.

We'll see if he makes the right move in time for his next Tribal Council this Wednesday at 8pm ET on CBS and Paramount+.
