While there are a lot of previous season relationships that will be interesting to see play out in Survivor 50, Tiffany Ervin has the potential to drive a lot of chaos if she chooses to treat the anniversary celebration as her own revenge party. Both the other returning players from her season were key players in her elimination, and fans are very eager to see how that plays out—especially since she and Charlie Davis (the leader of her blindside) are on the same starting tribe.

Survivor 46

Kicking off the game on the Yanu tribe, Tiffany easily connected with Kenzie Petty and Q Burdette. Things started off strong when Tiffany found a Beware Advantage within the first few days and created a majority alliance with herself, Kenzie, Q, and David Jelinsky. But when Yanu lost the first immunity challenge—though she was able to secure the hidden immunity idol—they chose to vote out Jelinsky after he showed he wasn’t good at committing to things.

Yanu went on to lose the next three immunity challenges—only having to attend two Tribal Councils due to a Nami tribe member’s evacuation—while Tiffany contemplated blindsiding her ally Kenzie, who was beginning to reveal herself as a serious social threat. Thankfully, Yanu won the final pre-merge immunity challenge and Q was selected to go on a journey where he secured a cross-tribe merge alliance for him and Tiffany with Nami’s Hunter McKnight and Tevin Davis as well as Siga’s Tim Spicer and Maria Shrime Gonzalez.

They called themselves the “Journey Six,” giving them a perfect majority alliance, able to gather information from all sides of the tribe. But when Tim appeared reluctant to vote out an easy-to-target Siga member, Q gathered the Yanus back together to vote him out.

Things only got worse for the Journey Six when Tiffany suggested Maria might be as threatening as Tim and Q grew upset that Tiffany was no longer loyal to the alliance. He went and revealed the information about her idol to everyone, putting a major target on her back in an attempt to blindside her. That was revealed at Tribal Council when he instead broke down, confessed to everything, and told his tribe mates to vote him out instead.

Run the Red Light
“Run the Red Light” – Castaways compete for the biggest reward of the season, and an outburst resulting from the reward challenge could lead to a strategic shift in this week’s target. Then, an eerie sense of agreeability around camp causes castaways to second guess their vote before tribal council, on SURVIVOR, Wednesday, May 1 (8:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming live and on-demand on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or

The tribe chose to go with their original plan of eliminating Tevin, which gave Tiffany the opportunity to confront Q when they both returned to camp. His betrayal caused her and Kenzie to unalign with him, though—unknown to Tiffany—Kenzie was also beginning to plot a blindside against her. Fearing her idol made her too much of a target, she revealed to Charlie Davis that she planned to play it at the next Tribal Council, which kept the tribe nervous enough to keep her safe through the next vote.

Q attempted to rekindle his relationship with Tiffany by bringing her on the infamous Applebee’s reward, but she had no plans to realign with him and gained a little confidence when she saw the results of the challenge put him further on the outs. She initiated a plan to vote him out at the next Tribal Council.

However, Maria and Charlie instead used Q’s antics as a smokescreen and instead blindsided Tiffany, making her the 4th member of the jury and the second person in a row to be eliminated with an idol in their pocket—but not the last. When Final Tribal Council came around, Tiffany campaigned for her day 1 ally Kenzie, voting for her to win the title of Sole Survivor in a 5-3-0 victory over Charlie and Ben Katzman.

Survivor 50 Predictions: How far will Tiffany go?

I don’t view Tiffany as an underdog because the reason she was voted out so early in her first season was because of how threatening she was to others. But I do see her as an under-the-radar participant this season—though comparatively I would not have placed that label on her in Survivor 46. Now, however, she has a lot of flexibility in how she starts the game and who she aligns with, and I really think the choices she makes on day one will determine the rest of the game for her.

But she is entering the game without limitations and 100% has the opportunity to make the right alliances and set strategies to operate a tight game to get herself to the end. She’s likely going to get to the merge, but how she does there will depend fully on how she set up her early game.

Interestingly enough, Tiffany is one of two returning players who placed lowest in their first season—along with Jenna Lewis-Dougherty. But I actually think that’s going to be a huge advantage for her. There are “bigger” names on the island that others might be more focused on, which not only will grant her a longer life, but ultimately give her more power. In Survivor, the biggest superpower anyone can have is invisibility, and Tiffany has the closest thing to it as we start the game. She has a chance to take full control very early on.

Outwit (Social Game): 8/15

Outplay (Physical Game): 5/15

Outlast (Strategic Game): 7/15

Wildcard Factor: 4/5

Total Player Score: 24/50

Last time she played, Charlie orchestrated her blindside, using Q as a smokescreen so she wouldn’t play her idol. So I’m very curious to see if she’s bringing any old feelings into the game. We’ll see if past seasons play a role very soon when Survivor 50 premieres Wednesday, February 25 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount +!
