Survivor 50 will premiere at the end of February, but CBS will be kicking off the countdown to the season early in the new year!

As is always the case, Survivor will head on a break for a few weeks before the new season kicks off, timed to the arrival of CBS’s midseason slate. While the summer hiatus is typically a longer one with the show wrapping in May and returning in September, fans of Survivor can look forward to the new season kicking off on the final Wednesday of February.

CBS has confirmed Survivor 50 will premiere on Wednesday, February 25, 2026! That means fans will have to wait just 70 days between the Survivor 49 finale and the Survivor 50 premiere, which is nothing compared to the 90+ days we wait between seasons in the summer.

The nice thing is that, although the season won’t begin until the end of February, CBS is actually kicking off the countdown to the season at the beginning of the month!

CBS will bring fans a month-long celebration of Survivor in February 2026

While the historic season of Survivor will not arrive until the end of the month of February, CBS is doing something special in celebration of Survivor 50 – something the network has never done before!

In the two weeks leading up to the three-hour Survivor 50 premiere, CBS will be presenting a near month-long celebration of its hit series! Over the course of two weeks, CBS will air 10 encore episodes bringing fans a look back at iconic moments from the past featuring players from the Survivor 50 cast.

CBS has not yet revealed the specific episodes that will air in the days leading up to the Survivor 50 premiere; however, it has revealed the schedule for the special celebration. This celebration will see Survivor taking over the CBS prime-time schedule in a way we’ve never seen before with the show airing across several nights in the week as follows:

  • Monday, Feb. 9 and Tuesday, Feb. 10 (8:00-9:00 PM)
  • Wednesday, Feb. 11 and Thursday, Feb. 12 (8:00-10:00 PM)
  • Friday, Feb. 13, Monday, Feb. 16 and Tuesday, Feb. 17 (8:00-9:00 PM)
  • Wednesday, Feb. 18 through Friday, Feb. 20 (8:00-9:30 PM)

The celebration culminates with the Survivor 50 premiere on February 25, as the returning players make their way to Fiji to compete to etch their name in Survivor history!

Now, of course, if you can't wait to kick off the Survivor 50 celebration, you don't have to wait until CBS's Survivor marathon! Every season of the show is available to steam on Paramount+, making it easy to catch up on the seasons featuring the season 50 cast.

In total, there are 22 seasons of the show represented in the Survivor 50 cast, so if you want to re-watch every season featuring a member of the season 50 cast, you might want to get started this December! This binge would include seasons 1-2, season 8, seasons 10-13, season 16, season 18, season 20, season 23, season 32, seasons 34-35, season 37-38, season 42, and seasons 45-49.
