Survivor 50 secures 5 Emmy Award Nominations

After a slam dunk anniversary season, Survivor is being rewarded with Emmy nominations and industry recognition.

Today is the day, people! The 2026 Emmy Award nominations have been announced and our favorite TV show has been honored with five nominations across five different categories! Last year, the show was nominated in four categories, but with the increase of recognition this year, Survivor has now been nominated for 77 Emmys since it premiered 26 years ago.

If seven’s a lucky number and we’ve now hit it twice, we’re hoping to hear “Survivor” called out at the 78th annual Primetime Emmy Awards airing on Monday, September 14.

Which Emmy categories is Survivor nominated in?

As of this morning, Survivor has officially been nominated for:

  • Outstanding Reality Competition
  • Outstanding Casting For A Reality Program
  • Outstanding Cinematography For A Reality Program
  • Outstanding Picture Editing For A Structured Reality Or Competition Program
  • Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Reality Competition Program

A huge congrats to the teams behind the long-running series! These awards alone not only recognize Jeff Probst and the producers of the show, but four members of the casting team, 43 members of the camera department, and 22 members of the editing team. All names are listed at the end of this article because I believe they have more than earned the acknowledgement they’ve received and deserve to have their names showcased for all to see!

The most impressive part of these nominations is the fact that Survivor was nominated in Cinematography and Picture Editing for the full series of work this year. That means, while a lot of Creative Arts Emmy nominations are only for a single episode of a show, but Survivor 50 excelled so much, the entire season is being recognized in those two categories. That’s truly such an accomplishment.

We already know outlets like Variety had been predicting not only a few noms after the success of Survivor 50, but a couple of wins, as well. Specifically they see Survivor winning “Outstanding Host for a Reality Or Reality Competition Program,” honoring Jeff’s incredible work at the helm of the show, as well as “Outstanding Reality Competition” and "Outstanding Picture Editing For A Structured Reality Or Competition Program.”

Considering they correctly predicted all five of Survivor’s nominations, we’re keeping our fingers crossed and hoping that their predictions continue to come true. The last time Survivor won an Emmy was back in 2011 when Jeff took home “Outstanding Host.” So they’re definitely overdue for another trophy on their shelf. At least, we think they are!
