Since Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans is set to be a landmark season of the reality show, there has been seemingly endless discussion about what to expect from it.
Former players have been talking about the upcoming season. For example, Adam Klein explained why he thinks Angelina Keeley is a threat to win the season, and Gabe Ortis revealed why he thinks Jonny Fairplay should have been part of the cast.
One of the best ways to figure out what to expect from Survivor 50 is to look at the history of the season's cast members. It makes a lot of sense to learn about the last time that Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick competed on the show, during Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains. With that in mind, it seems very revealing to learn that after filming that season, LaGrossa Kendrick was so mad that she refused to watch it when it aired.

Why Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick refused to watch Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains
In 2010, fans of Jeff Probst's reality show watched Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, a season that is now widely regarded as one of the best. While fans love that season, which featured a slew of highly memorable moments, that doesn't mean that everyone who competed during it had a great time. Unfortunately for Stephenie, she didn't seem to have a lot of fun during that season, as several of her tribemates didn't seem to like her very much.
Years later in October 2022, Stephenie was interviewed by Entertainment Weekly about her Survivor experience. While communicating with the outlet, the Survivor veteran revealed something stunning.
After her negative experience, Stephenie was so bothered that she didn't even watch Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains when it aired.
"I was so mad at Survivor that I literally stopped watching. I didn't even watch Heroes vs. Villains."
During the same interview, the Survivor 50 player reflected on how her former Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains tribemates felt about her during the memorable season. As Stephenie explained to Entertainment Weekly, she felt helpless to make her former tribemates like her, and that made her feel fed up with the situation.
"I couldn't help it if James didn't like me, and Rupert didn't like me and didn't want me taking his air time or whatever it was. I'm like, I'm done."
When Stephenie returned for Survivor 50, that was the fourth time she played the game, following Survivor: Palau, Survivor: Guatemala, and Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains.
Given that she has been a staple of Jeff Probst's reality show for so long, it is stunning to know that she once refused to even watch a season she starred in. As strange as that seems, it is just as amusing to learn that Stephenie told Entertainment Weekly that not watching the season put her in an uncomfortable position when she attended the reunion.
"Going back to that reunion show in New York, I didn't know what the hell was going on. I didn't know who was gonna win. I was like, I don't even care. I was so mad because I was just done with it. I was just over it."
Finally, the reality show legend told the outlet that she was really bothered to have been voted out of Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains after going so hard she dislocated her shoulder during a challenge and kept going.
"Really, you're going to get rid of me second? I just dislocated my shoulder and put it back in and went back in the challenge, and you're gonna get rid of me? Like, I'm done with you people…. I was just, I was done. I was done with it."
Survivor 50 premieres on CBS and Paramount+ in February 2026.
