Survivor 50 may be over, but the fun doesn't have to be. Currently, there’s a Survivor exhibition at The Paley Center for Media in NYC celebrating the show’s 25-year legacy and 50 seasons, and having just been there, I can attest that it is every Survivor’s fever dream come to fruition.

While I had seen some mixed media discourse from fans who had previously visited the exhibit in the last couple of months, I decided I wanted to see it for myself before recommending it. And fans, I cannot recommend it enough, especially for hard-core ones like me who get extremely excited just by seeing a Survivor buff. Trust me, it is 100% worth it, and there’s plenty of buffs to see, too.

Since February of this year, around the Survivor 50 premiere, the exhibition opened to show both fans and visitors the show's legacy from the moment you walk through the door. Literally, as soon as you enter, a gigantic screen greets you, displaying videos from Survivor 50, as well as showing all 50 logos as the iconic Ancient Voices song plays. Fans can also get plenty of photos while holding a torch against a splendid sunset.

I would also recommend going early, as it is much more enjoyable with fewer people and allows you to fully enjoy every section of the exhibit. While it is fun to run into other fans and chat about the show, it is also quite enjoyable to explore each area at leisure without too much chaos.

To fully enter the exhibit, fans will walk through a transformed jungle section that immediately leads to the exhibit's memorabilia display. A plethora of Survivor relics will be next, displayed in glass cases, including hidden immunity idols, tribe immunity idols, immunity necklaces, and more. Even iconic clothing items can be seen as well, such as Boston Rob Mariano’s cap, or host and showrunner Jeff Probst’s attire.

In several sections, plenty of photographs of past players can also be seen, accompanied by their memorable quotes, while screens will display unforgettable moments from the show. A gigantic timeline of all Survivor winners can also be seen at this point, which certainly evokes nostalgia and excitement to see the show’s history displayed like that.

The exhibit’s highlight is, without a doubt, the Tribal Council experience. There, fans will be able to sit at Tribal Council around a fire, take photos as if they were the ones talking to Probst, and vote at a booth. Just sitting there was a surreal experience, as one could almost feel themselves at a real Tribal Council, about to make a move, or get blindsided.

Also, at the exhibit’s auditorium, at certain hours throughout the day, different episodes are also screened for people to enjoy after seeing the show’s showcased history. I personally got to see an episode of Survivor: Game Changers, and while it’s not my favourite season by a long shot, it was definitely worth watching alongside others experiencing it for the first time.

Lastly, several banners are on display, signed by past players from those specific seasons, so fans can see their autographs and get a glimpse of them, almost as if they had just been there themselves. Some examples include the Survivor 47 and Survivor: David vs Goliath banners, the latter of which has been signed by players such as Christian Hubicki, Natalie Cole, Mike White, and Davie Rickenbacker.

Visit the Survivor 50 exhibit at The Paley Center for Media in NYC, open Wednesday through Sunday, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m, now through June 7th. Trust me this is one you won't want to miss!
