The Traitors season 3 just premiered on Peacock on Thursday, Jan. 9, with three Survivor winners and a runner-up part of the cast. Unfortunately, after just three episodes, which were all released on the premiere date, one of the former Survivor winners has already been eliminated in The Traitors season 3.
For those who don't know, two-time Survivor winner, Tony Vlachos, joined Boston Rob Mariano and Jeremy Collins in the new season of the series. Carolyn Wiger, the Survivor 44 runner-up, is also competing in the new season. So, of a small group of players, four are from Survivor. I believe it's the most represented show in the new season, hosted by Alan Cumming.
Spoilers ahead for The Traitors season 3 episode 3!
Tony Vlachos was banished in The Traitors season 3 episode 3
In the third episode, the players were chatting during the roundtable discussion, and Tony was clearly the person who everyone was skeptical of. He needed to find some good answers, but unfortunately, he stumbled through, which caused the target on his back to get even bigger.
It's so interesting because I felt like, in a way, everyone was happy that the target wasn't on their back that they didn't really question Tony in a fair way or consider why he would act that way. Voting started shortly after, and almost every player voted for Tony.
To twist the knife, Boston Rob also voted for Tony. In return, Tony called Boston Rob a "sellout" after he revealed that he was a Faithful and not, indeed, a Traitor.
It's surprising that Tony was eliminated so early in the game. He is clearly one of the biggest threats in the game. He's easily one of the best competitive reality TV players of all time. Only two people have won Survivor twice, and he's one of them. The other is Sandra Diaz-Twine, who performed quite well in The Traitors season 2.
Of the Survivor players, Tony seemed like he'd have the best chance, but there were a few things working against him. Obviously, as the winningest Survivor player in history, there was a huge target on his back. Boston Rob tried to protect Tony with a shield to start the game, but still, Tony was acting quite suspect for a Faithful. I don't know why he was choosing to act so sus, but that's kind of how Tony plays the game. He tries really hard to make people feel comfortable, but that doesn't always work when the other players are already skeptical of you.
Now, Boston Rob, Carolyn, and Jeremy are the three Survivor players remaining in the game, and two of them -- Boston Rob and Carolyn -- are Traitors! It's going to be really interesting to see if and how they'll be able to navigate the game and stop the other players from banishing them from the castle.
We'll continue to update readers on the status of the Survivor players in The Traitors season 3!
