Survivor 51 has been delivering—or was…we’ll get into that—their promise of “permanent uncertainty” for the open era. The first three episodes have left fans raving online about their excitement for a player-led season.
By that, of course, I mean that the twists that have been introduced so far this season have all been impacted by players first and production second. Like the marooning where a player had to be voted to Exile Island before buffs were distributed. Or the mutiny, where players had to elect someone from their tribe as a representative and then those players got to choose whether or not to swap tribes.
Everything we’ve seen—until last week—has been informed by player choices. Something we haven’t seen for quite some time in Survivor.
However, it seems the show is up to its old tricks by utilizing a random tribe swap that left Jenna Doore at the bottom of the new Savu tribe, sending her home in a 4-1 vote.
But after that, how will our players fare going forward?
We’re rounding up the top three most powerful players after episode 4 and the three players in danger for episode 5.
Top 3 power players after episode 4

Angelica “Jelly” Loblack
With an idol only she knows about in her pocket and a member of the majority alliance in a small tribe, Jelly is in one of the best positions of the game right now. She has the power to completely control which way the game goes. If she really thinks through things strategically and logically—rather than socially—she could make a big move that could totally change the way the game is moving along.

Danny Kilby & Eric Macksoud
Specifically together, this new bromance could be unstoppable. Having previously annoyed their former tribes, the fact that they can now bond over the things others disliked about them means that they can just do the “annoying” things together and leave all social interaction with their tribe in a neutral area. If the two of them stick together, we could definitely see them going far.
Top 3 players in danger going into episode 5

Alexis Levine
Now the odd-player-out of the Savu tribe thanks to the Helicopter Alliance, if we don’t see another change-up this week, it’s likely the show will fall into old patterns and we’ll see another back-to-back Tribal Council for the smallest tribe. Considering Jenna was the target of the Helicopter Alliance last week, it makes sense that those three power players are going to come together once more for an easy vote in Alexis.

Devin Way
For the same reasons as Alexis, Devin could finally be getting hit back for all the blows he’s been dealing so far this season. In a four person tribe, there’s not much room to hide and Devin has made himself larger than life which could finally allow Jelly and Ori Jean-Charles to see exactly how much of a threat he is to their game. It’d be very easy for them to team up with Alexis and vote out Devin.

Thien An Nguyen
We saw Thien An start to take more control of the vote in episode 3, but considering she’s now on a tribe that is basically in the same place she last was (but less total people), attempting to make a big move could come with some much bigger consequences. If she tries to take control of a flip by bringing together Kristin Flickinger, Maggie Nestor, and Carter Krull to take out Brady Booker, it’s possible that the more social players could accidentally derail her and send her home instead.
