After Bianca Roses was voted out in episode 5 of Survivor 48, it makes sense that the Civa tribe needs to talk in the first moments of Survivor 48 episode 6, "Doing the Damn Thing." Cedrek McFadden wants to talk, but Sai Hughley makes it clear that she has no desire to speak to him, and she calls him a liar.

But, Cedrek isn't letting that stand, and he immediately defends himself and tells Sai in front of the rest of Civa that Bianca was playing all of them and pitting them all against each other. He shares that she told him she lost her vote right before they went to the tribal council, which is why he told Chrissy that they needed to vote for Bianca.

Survivor 48 players drop their buffs for the second time

When things really get going in the new episode, it's day 12, and the tribes have all received a message to drop their buffs and collect all their things to go to their new home. And there is definitely a lot of excitement across all of the beaches.

Once everyone makes it to their new beach, they all read a sign that lets them know that there is a hidden advantage to help one person in the first challenge, just before the official merge. In this next challenge, some will earn the feast, some will not, and only one person will be safe from being voted off of Survivor 48.

With everyone fighting for the merge, will the advantage make a difference in who goes home next on Survivor?

Charity Nelms is the sixth player voted out of Survivor 48

Considering how hard Charity played this game, it almost made sense that she would be the sixth player voted out of Survivor. That being said, it was a close call, as Sai received five votes to her seven. And that thirteenth vote? That went to Cedrek.

It seems that Charity went too hard for people, in particular Eva Erickson and then Sai, so she was the easy vote for many. Sadly, this means that she just missed the merge.

But, how did we get to this point?

We have reached the Survivor 48 pre-merge and there are a lot of conversations happening

With everyone on the hunt for the hidden advantage, it is ultimately Sai who snags the advantage just before Charity is able to get to it. However, she won't learn what her advantage is until she hands it to Jeff Probst at the challenge.

Now that everyone is on the beach together, they are going around and getting to know each other. We also have people reconnecting with their alliances, including Joe Hunter and Eva. And Eva tells Joe that they should work with David Kinne. So, Joe tells David that they want to work together to play an honest game.

Charity tells Mitch Guerra and Chrissy Sarnowsky that Eva has Star Toomey's immunity idol. And, she makes it clear that she wants to vote Eva out. She also tells Star that she should take her idol back from Eva. So, Star goes to tell Eva and Joe about what Charity is doing and that she is targeting Eva.

The challenge sees the tribe divided into two teams of six for a chance for the merge meal and one buff is on the line

Doing the Damn Thing
“Doing the Damn Thing” – A mad dash ensues when an opportunity to get ahead in the game lands on the beach. Then, information is a free-for-all when players talk strategy over a reward meal, on SURVIVOR, Wednesday, April 2 (8:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream on Paramount+* (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. Jeff Probst serves as host and

Not only is this a team challenge for the merge meal reward, but once the team for the meal wins, then it is time for an individual challenge for the solo immunity. With the advantage in her hands, Sai automatically advanced to the individual challenge and won the merge meal. So, she gets to sit out of the team part of the challenge.

On one side, we have the orange team: Shauhin Davari, Mitch, Joe, Eva, Charity, and Cedrek. Then we have the purple team: Mary Zheng, David, Star, Chrissy, Kamilla, Karthigesu, and Kyle Fraser. And of course, Sai gets to sit out the team challenge.

In pairs, the team has to crawl through the mud under logs. Then once they get to the mat, the next duo gets to go. Once the entire team gets through, they have to do an over and under through wood shavings one at a time. After the entire team makes it to their mat, they get to move on to a cage where two team members head to the top to get a large bag free, while the rest of the team clears debris to get the bag out of the cage. Then, everyone has to go over and off the cage.

Once the bag is free and everyone makes it to the next mat, they have to get through the bag to find a key and then head up a wall. At the top of the wall is a net to help the Survivors get up the wall. Once everyone is up the wall, they get to start working on their puzzle.

Ultimately, it was a neck and neck battle to the wall, before the purple team truly pulled through and was able to get ahead of the orange team. It was a struggle for the orange team as they lost time trying to get everyone up the wall. However, Mitch and Shauhin get to work on the puzzle immediately, and it seems like they are back in the fight for the reward and the chance at individual immunity.

In the end, it is the purple team that earns the merge meal and the chance to fight for individual immunity. So who gets to go for the individual immunity? That would be Sai, Mary, David, Star, Kyle, Chrissy, and Kamilla.

The immunity challenge is all about making the merge

This challenge sees the Survivors balancing a ball on a pole. As the challenge progresses, they have to add a new section to the pole. It is a live transition, and they can't drop the ball as they add to the length of their pole and move their hands down.

Chrissy was the first one out, as she was unable to add the next section of her pole after the third piece of her pole was added. As the poles get longer, it gets even harder to balance the ball. Kamilla is the next Survivor out of the challenge. Sadly, Mary is the next player out after looking solid for most of the competition.

As the players add the third-to-last addition to their pole, Sai drops. As the players add their second-to-last piece of pole, David ends up dropping. This leaves Kyle and Star going head-to-head. And the wind is definitely not on their side. Sadly, Star drops, and that means Kyle wins the first individual immunity of Survivor 48.

At the merge meal, the winning team talks about who they want to send home. And, it sounds like it was between Charity and Eva, although the push seems to be towards sending home Eva.

Back at the beach, the losing team gets cleaned up. And Cedrek is upset because he feels like he is the reason that the team lost. And some people want to know what the Tribal Council is like since this is their first time going. Charity tells Mitch that she thinks that while she wants Eva out, she wants Sai to go as an easy vote. But, Shauhin is talking about sending Charity out.

As the merge meal winners get back to camp, Sai is telling everyone all the food they got to eat. But at the same time, Cedrek is really struggling with how he didn't perform at the challenge. So, Star sits down with him and talks him through his emotions.

The conversations are flowing, and the names being tossed around are basically Charity, Sai and Eva. So who is going home? At this point, it is anyone's game to lose.

It's a pre-merge tribal council with a lot to talk about

Finally, everyone has their torches lit. All 13 people have entered the tribal council, but only 12 will get to keep playing. And the conversation kicks off with a lot of interesting analogies, including a discussion of the dog park.

The conversation definitely gets deep, as the players open up about connecting with each other and being real people. And, Shauhin mentions that he has shared things with fellow tribe members that he hasn't shared with close friends. Charity points out that there are people who haven't even spoken to her, and that everyone is out here playing to win.

A lot of the conversation seems to revolve around the idea of this tribe being a family. But as Kyle points out, they still don't know who they can truly trust or which direction people will go with their votes.

So where did the votes go? Cedrek got a vote, but it was really between Sai and Charity, which is honestly what we expected. That being said, I did expect to see a vote for Eva thrown in the mix. But since that didn't happen, it should be interesting to see how things play out now that we have officially reached the merge.

Could Sai blow up over getting five votes at tribal council? Will Eva be the next target? It should be interesting to see what goes down in episode 7.
