Although we’ve grown used to Survivor: Game Changers giving us a look at challenges, there’s little to see for episode 6 just based on the photos.

With an episode name like “Vote Early, Vote Often,” it seems like Survivor: Game Changers is trying to hint that there’s more than just a tribal swap at hand. However, the photos just don’t support that, not yet, anyway. As with the first tribal swap episode’s photos, all we know is that the swap is coming.

Jeff’s face is caught somewhere between delight and utter shock. Even Sandra’s expression seems to say “Jeff Probst, you got me again!” At the same time, though, you can almost certainly expect that everyone in this photo, especially Sandra and Aubry, are starting to think about how this will play out. (Seriously, Aubry looks quite pensive.)

Incidentally, we don’t know if this is a shuffle from three tribes to two again, or if three tribes will remain. There are 15 people remaining in the game, so the math would suggest it’s three tribes again, this time with five people each. However, we also believe Exile Island may be returning. In other words, two tribes of seven, with the unlucky fifteenth person spending time on Exile until the next elimination, could be what we end up seeing.

This photo is no help, since there are clearly mats for all three tribes. Presumably we’d return to the Mana/Nuku original split, with the person left out going back to Tavua, similarly to what happened in Kaoh Rong and what we’ve dubbed “Julia Exile” in the above-linked post.

Debbie may be in a better position from a shuffle, assuming she doesn’t end up with Brad once again. However, even if the two of them are separated, Sierra, Tai, and Hali could easily talk about Debbie to their new tribemates and turn her into an easy target, even without Brad. Sierra and Hali in particular seem like they’d be open to doing that.

If Brad and Debbie do end up on the same tribe yet again, Brad presumably would do the same and try to pull together former allies or connections to oust her quickly.

Then we come to Tavua. To use the cliched but also true term, they had all sorts of momentum going forward. All of that will now be gone. Sarah and Troyzan had a slight connection building, but that also could be separated. Admittedly, their victories may have made their positive bonds stronger, especially between even Ozzy and Cirie. However, a defeat as members of a different tribe will test them. Which are they more loyal to: their current tribe or their original one?

Alas, we can’t see any hints of the color of those buffs being unwrapped. It’s so tantalizing, isn’t it?
