There’s an unfortunate barrage of negativity that comes with playing Survivor, and Sierra Dawn Thomas lets the fans know that it’s not okay.

Survivor is a deeply emotional show. Being stranded on an island for up to 39 days with limited food and water, tons of cuts, possible infection and forced to talk to the world about it takes an emotional toll on a person. Unfortunately, the stresses of the game don’t stay on the island, as Sierra Dawn Thomas reveals through a video she uploaded on Facebook.

You can tell that Sierra Dawn Thomas was holding back on saying something, but was compelled to talk about the online trolls that have been commenting on her appearance in Survivor Game Changers. From filming in the front seat of her car to filming a vertical video, it represented the unfiltered, honest opinions of someone who’s had enough of people talking about her in an overtly negative fashion.

She asks those who feel the urge to trash her for her height, her appearance, or the fact that she got her nails shellacked before appearing on Survivor Game Changers, why they feel the need to come at her for that.

Watch till the end… blah blah blah 😘 **hit HD for clearer version**

More from Survivor Players

Thankfully enough, Sierra Dawn Thomas has a tough exterior, as she notes that despite the mean comments she receives online, she knows at heart that they don’t know her as a person. Additionally, she acknowledges the support group of fans, friends and family that have her back.

As someone who was once subject to a (small, but organized) harassment campaign for my work at a previous job, I personally understand how seemingly harmless strings of text on a computer screen can (once streaming constantly in a coordinated fashion) ultimately wear you down. The harassment facing female Survivor players like Sierra Dawn Thomas is extrapolated plenty worse due to the millions of people watching each episode every week.
