Although the Survivor: Game Changers reunion show focused on the season that just was, the future of Survivor looks a little clearer now.

We’ve barely had an hour to process how the end of Survivor: Game Changers played out, but we’d be lying if we didn’t say we look forward to Jeff Probst teasing us a little bit at the end of the reunion show with what’s coming next.

Once again, as we already knew, the show will return to Fiji. In fact, Survivor has already started filming its next seasons, because Probst shared a look at a challenge last month.

The name of our new season? Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers. Yes, that means those rumors were true. It certainly doesn’t roll off the tongue that well, but neither did Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty, and the show has gone to that well twice.

From the clip shown during the reunion, it sounds like casting actually profiled friends (or at least asked the players what people tend to say about them) to divide the cast into three tribes based on their traits. Hustlers work hard for the money, in the vein of Donna Summer; heroes have “courage,” per the clip itself; healers are basically self-explanatory, though Probst carefully mentioned both physical and mental healing factors in his voiceover.

The three tribes have the following names, which we spotted on the buffs everyone was wearing. The Healers, in yellow, are Soko. The Hustlers in red are Yawa. Finally, the Heroes, in blue, are Levu. Those names likely won’t matter until a shuffle, but it’s good to know them now. In clips, we got to meet two Survivors from each tribe.

In the order they were introduced, they are:

  • Heroes (Levu): Ben, a Marine; Ashley, a lifeguard
  • Healers (Soko): Mike, a surgeon; Desi, a physical therapist
  • Hustlers (Yawa): Ali, a personal assistant; Ryan, a bellhop

Some of them appeared on the rumored list of players that has started floating around already.

Finally, Probst confirmed the show would be back in the fall. What do you think of this new theme?
