Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers has its first batch of press photos from the premiere, and there’s something missing in them.

With Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers finally premiering this month,  CBS has turned the spigot on, releasing all kinds of information to look at ahead of the show coming back Sept. 27. That now includes photos from the premiere, titled “I’m Not Crazy, I’m Confident,” which is the kind of thing someone who usually gets voted out first says. (Just saying, Survivor hopefuls.)

Quite a few of the photos focus just on one or two members of the cast, letting us get used to the names and faces. We’ve pulled out some of the most important-looking images below, and it’s time for some analysis.

The ship seems like it’s primarily loaded with fruits here, but the odds are good that there are some chickens or some more long-term supplies available as well.

Here’s our first look at the Levu/Heroes camp. Dare we suspect that Katrina already recognizes Alan, or is this just the usual gesturing at each other to get to know everyone’s names now that they’ve arrived at camp? Also, check out that very sturdy flag frame with the extra banner below for the tribe name. Additionally, the Heroes look like they picked up plenty of goodies on their way to camp.

Ditto with the Healers/Soko tribe. Their camp seems a bit more isolated with fewer trees around, although it’s hard to think that Survivor would drop any of its tribes in an area that doesn’t have any coconut trees, since they’re good sources of hydration and at least something to eat.

See what we mean about a lot of fruit? Anyway, unlike the other two tribes, Yawa does not get a nice, expected image of them bringing their bounty into camp. This seems like it could be an early problem, even with the food Patrick’s grabbing here.

But then there’s this photo of Ryan and Patrick sitting together under what looks like a constructed shelter that has a bench and everything? Is this a reward? They both look fairly happy. Right now, what’s going on with the Hustlers is one of our major questions.

Ah yes, the fist-bump of alliance. Mike, Cole, good job, you have continued a long-standing tradition … assuming that’s what they’re actually doing. But they look like they’re off by themselves, which is another good indication that something strategic is about to go down.

It’s hard not to think that this is the first immunity challenge (note the covered tall item on a table next to Jeff Probst, which is probably the tribal immunity idol) that will also presumably entail a reward of at least flint, since that’s a long-standing tradition, but that Ryan and Patrick photo has us guessing yet again. Either way, let’s start with the position of the carts, which are on the ground here as Probst tells them what they’ll be doing today.

Then the tribes have to pull on a rope. How exactly can Devon see anything in this photo? Does he need to see anything at this point in time?

Then, the tribes will have to ride the carts down. Nice of Survivor to provide some crash sand to lessen the jolt. Notably, it looks like all three tribes really have a shot here, so it’ll come down to the inevitable puzzle portion …

But it is not just one puzzle portion, it appears to be three puzzle portions! Oh, Survivor, you do know how to show a fan a good time. On the left, the number 3 table looks to be the most difficult and thus probably the equalizer here.

CBS has plenty more photos to look at in the two weeks between now and the premiere.
