Typically, Survivor likes to keep any hints of its next cast close to the chest, but that doesn’t mean that some well-connected people can’t find anything.

We’ve already known about 19 of the 20 people who we’ll officially meet next spring in Survivor: Ghost Island for months. At the time, my fellow Surviving Tribal co-expert, Cody Williams, pointed out that one woman was still missing from the list that Inside Survivor had published.

Turns out that Inside Survivor has now reportedly found the details for Survivor: Ghost Island‘s 20th player. The site believes that she’s a woman named Angela Perkins, who is from Cincinnati and is 43.

If Inside Survivor’s right — and the site usually is — then that would make her the oldest player on this season, and therefore likely to be separated from and intended to balance out Brendan Shapiro at 41. (At the time that the first 19 were revealed, Williams also noted that Brendan was the oldest “as far as we know,” and we now know better that he’s not, by a whopping two years.)

Whether or not that means anything other than an interesting quirk of the casting remains to be seen. However, Survivor has allowed the oldest man and woman in the cast choose tribes before in seasons like Gabonwhere that did not end well for one tribe, as my other co-expert, Daniel George, notes was pretty obvious from the beginning.

Is that gameplay element going to make a comeback with the relatively even ages of Angela and Brendan? It’s a fair question, and one we probably won’t get the definite answer to until Ghost Island actually premieres.

That sort of thing, after all, isn’t what Jeff Probst usually talks about when he teases the next season at reunion shows; it’s more a look into the theme these days, as it was for Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers at the Game Changers reunion.

Either way, even as fans’ focus is on Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers, it’s never too early to look ahead to season 36.
