It looks like King Arthur and Lancelot may stay their place as Knights of the Round Table, as our Survivor season 35 episode 9 edgic watches Liberty bumble.

There comes a point in most edit-predictable seasons where it becomes a clearer picture of who left in the game can win. For full disclosure, I will leave four contenders in each of my future Survivor edgic posts going forward, no matter how strong the chances are for each of the remaining players. However, I would say that there’s realistically a three-horse race left for the rest of the season.

Ever since the merge, we’ve started to see a lot of negative content come out to balance out players the edit told us to cheer for during early Survivor season 35 play, and vice versa. With four hours of televised content before this season’s finale, we’re at the point where we start to count how much negativity has been stacked up by other players into the logic part to help complement the editing analysis.

With that in mind, let’s check out our Survivor season 35 episode 9 edgic ahead of the first Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers double-length episode.

Complex Personalities

Ben Driebergen (CPN5): There’s no bigger tell of a player’s ignorance to the audience than when a player is told they’re perceived as steamrolling others then immediately respond with “no I’m not!” Ben’s making moves to bring Devon into his fold, but he’s getting a lot of flak from the majority alliance of seven with just two players left in the minority.

If there’s a flip to be had, Ben is the biggest target. He’s hanging onto winning contention, as well as survival in the game, by a thread.

Joe Mena (CPN4): At this point in the game, if Joe survives past these two upcoming eliminations, it will be shortly lived. His goal in the game is basically to besmirch Ben’s name and cause chaos in the majority in order to manufacture a flip, but the edgic suggests that he either pulls it off before coming up just short of the end or makes it to the Final Tribal Council as a goat few vote for.

Mike Zahalsky (CP4): Any underdog edit overtones that were coming off of Dr. Mike’s edit to this point in Survivor season 35 took a nosedive after that Tribal Council snafu. The fact that we didn’t even him whip out his fake idol completely undercuts his credibility as a potential Survivor winner. No way will a winner’s craziest move make it to the cutting room floor.

Ashley Nolan (CP4): Ashley’s objections to Ben steamrolling over her voice leads to perhaps the biggest breakthrough of this season’s post-merge play. She makes it her mission to get rid of Joe after he called her a goat. That, right there, marks her for winners contention death, as if her weeks of confessionals talking about the gameplay of others wasn’t an indication.

Chrissy Hofbeck (CP3): Despite being one of the lead knights of the Round Table, Chrissy has been doing a good job of staying out of the limelight. Even though she’s aware that Ben, her second-most trusted ally in the game, is completely steamrolling others, she’s making sure to keep an arm’s distance away so that she can get her voice in while letting him self-immolate.

Middle of the Road

Cole Medders (MOR3): What a sad state of affairs for Cole. He’s been the target of the majority since the merge, but due to idol fears and winning the Immunity Challenge, others fell on his sword for him. When he lost to Lauren during the Immunity Challenge, the joy on Ben and Devon’s faces sealed the notion of how much everyone wanted to see him go.

Devon Pinto survivor season 35 episode 9

Devon Pinto (MOR3): This was a huge turning point for Devon Pinto. I believe that his betrayal of trust by Ryan as Ben told him a secret once he already knew awoken an extra gear. He’s still going to let others make the moves he wants to make, but now he’s willing to cut Ryan to further his game.

“I’m going to play this game with Ben, and I’m going to have to make some big moves coming up.” Just like Sarah Lacina last year, we could be witnessing the winner’s push with a ton more confessionals. The only thing he lacks so far is personal winner quote content such as who he’s playing the game for or comments about life back home.

Ryan Ulrich (MOR3): Overconfidence is an insidious killer in Survivor, and Ryan’s trust in Devon may be his downfall. If you tell two people a secret, it’s best done in front of both of them, but Ryan insists Devon would never tell his Immunity Idol secret to anybody else. “I’m making him dependent on me a little bit,” Ryan insists, before telling Ben that very same secret while informing Devon only he knows about it.

I’ve been beating the “overexposed” drum for Ryan’s edit since the beginning, but by all edgic accounts, Ryan has undoubtedly sealed his fate as someone not winning Survivor Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers.

Lauren Rimmer Individual Immunity survivor season 35

Lauren Rimmer (MOR3): While some edgicers think that this game is a race to the end between Lauren and Devon, I’m quite concerned about her lack of game conversations. She’s in the right position to make a big move late in the game, but the fact we got no comment from her about a triumphant Immunity Challenge win over Cole is a huge detriment to her winning chances.

She had no confessionals after that challenge, either, and she became an afterthought in conversations held by Knights of the Round Table. That said, the previews show her and Ashley wanting to talk to Mike and Joe in a possible game-changing moment, so her winner chances are pending these next two hours.
