Survivor season 35 Ponderosa: Lauren Rimmer goes back to work

Despite being part of an iconic elimination that will change the face of season 35, Lauren Rimmer heads to Survivor Ponderosa and goes straight back to crabbing.

The worst part about wanting to see how a player reacts to their Survivor Ponderosa experience is that it requires them to be voted out of the game. Gone are the days where we see players enjoy their 39th day playing the game with some food, so the only way we could see Lauren Rimmer make her way to the game’s resort is for her to fall short of the Final Tribal Council.

Unfortunately, her fate was sealed when she told too many people about her advantages and was voted out 1-0 after Ben used his Hidden Immunity Idol. Instead of heading to Survivor Ponderosa bitter, her video shows Lauren remaining true to character and lay her cards out on the table; Ben is now playing for himself, by himself.

What’s interesting about her experience acclimating back into society is the people who she’s with on the jury. Desi, Cole, JP and Joe are all players that she either despises or didn’t get along with very well, yet they received her with open arms and tons of food as if she was an old friend. She describes the scene as if she was in heaven!

From a gameplay perspective, one must pay attention to what Lauren Rimmer says about Ben. That conversation around the table where she reveals Ben’s willingness and want to embarrass others by planting fake Hidden Immunity Idols will be an important memory burned into the majority of the jury’s mind, which may hurt Ben if he makes it to the end.

When all’s said and done, Lauren wants to get back to work the only way she knows how; by crabbing. It seems like the youngins didn’t want to spend their day placing traps for crabs, but Lauren teaching Joe how to do it and them preparing a meal for the jury the next day is an awesome Survivor Ponderosa moment.

Without a doubt, Lauren is one of the most genuine, unique characters to come out of Survivor in the past ten seasons. I hope she makes it back in a future season should she wish to return, as only her own cockiness stood in her way.
