Survivor Ghost Island’s first four minutes have some obvious spoilers
Skip the first 90 seconds of the Survivor Ghost Island premiere if you don’t want to get slightly spoiled about the fate of two players from the season.
Survivor is one of the longest-running reality competition programs in television history, so you think they would be increasingly proficient in making sure no spoilers made it to audiences at home. While they can’t prevent members of the cast from leaking the results of a season (especially in a returning season, as veterans are likelier to make such contacts), they certainly can control what makes it to air.
Survivor Ghost Island airs tomorrow night, yet CBS has already produced the first three and a half minutes that will make it to air for everyone to watch on Facebook, Twitter and on various press outlets to watch. It sets up the opening montage, the ghastly season theme plus Jeff Probst saying “39 days, 20 people, one Survivor!”
In addition to the reactions of the tribes upon hearing about the Ghost Island twist, if you watch during various points of the castaways’ first glances before they hit the beach, you can see some very obvious spoilers. Below the tweet, we will discuss the spoilers spotted in this official Survivor Ghost Island content that will make it to air tomorrow night. If you didn’t notice it at first, we’ll point out exactly what it is. Kellyn Bechtold was seen wearing a Malolo tribe buff, same as Chelsea Townsend. Both players start out as members of Naviti, meaning CBS has outright given away two players guaranteed to make the first swap. Furthermore, we see a wide reaction shot of Naviti tribe with Chris, Desiree and Desiree absent, indicating that Chris is likely the early tribe leader, Sebastian is the athletic player and Desiree is the puzzle-solver for the first challenge.

The idea of the CBS interns screwing things may be a long-running online joke within the Survivor community, but there’s no way that this wasn’t a fundamental error on behalf of editing. Unlike referring to Stephanie Johnson as Stephanie Gonzalez, this guarantees at least a few players making it past the first week or so of voting, which has larger effects of season spoilers down the road.
