Survivor Ghost Island: Why was __________ voted out in 10th place?

After a game-changing post-merge tribe swap, Jenna Bowman was sent home after the Survivor gods gave Malolo another disadvantage.

Everyone was speculating about how this double elimination was going to go down. Many people thought that everyone was going to both Tribal Councils. This led to more questions about the power of the immunity necklaces since there were two. We concluded this speculation with a post-merge tribe swap similar to that of Survivor: Fiji.

For Jenna, this shake-up has the potential to be great for her game. Tribal lines are still very strong at this point in the game, with the entirety of this season showing Naviti with a numbers advantage. Through every tribe swap, Naviti was given the upper hand. With the numbers at six to four, Malolo has a solid chance of a majority in one of the two new temporary tribes. Once again, Naviti is given the ideal draw with both majorities! It feels like I have written this story so many times this season.

Jenna is with Donothan, Sebastian, Angela, and Chelsea. Although she is in the minority yet again, she at least has Sebastian. We have seen her and Sebastian in a rather close relationship previously, meaning this should put Donothan on the bottom. Sebastian is in a position where he could stick his neck out and save Jenna. However, when we go back to camp, there is no talk about their relationship.

The talk for this half of the merged tribe is all about Naviti vs. Malolo. It has been so long since the original tribes have been mentioned this much in the decision-making after the merge. Although the tribal lines certainly play a role for the entire game, modern Survivor usually sees far less emphasis on them as the game goes on.

Jenna seems to think that the vote is between her and Donothan for sure. None of the Naviti are entertaining the idea of flipping. Jenna knows that Donothan has an idol, and then becomes very selfish. Of course, Jenna is going to want that immunity idol, but she should not hold her breath. Jenna plays up the emotion to Donothan, hoping for a miracle.

Donothan actually tells her that he will play his idol on her! This is so confusing to me; I do not understand the benefit of Donothan lying to Jenna. It may not be a bad move to say he will try to feel out the way the votes are coming, but Jenna is not going to be happy since she almost expected Donothan’s idol.

At Tribal Council, Jenna is playing it up big time, and I mean big time. She opens up with many hopeless thoughts that carry throughout the entire tribal council. She is trying to make it seem obvious that she is the target. However, it is Jenna making it seem like she is the target, not the Naviti majority. Donothan has no reason to be swayed at this point.

Donothan plays his idol, and you cannot blame him. Jenna’s vote is perhaps the most confusing part of this Tribal Council; she votes for Donathan. This is one of her best allies, and if an idol play works, she needs him in the game. If Donathan happened to play his idol on Jenna, Donathan would have been tied 1-1 after the canceled votes. On a re-vote, Donathan goes home. He would have essentially idoled himself out.

Jenna was on the bottom and was in a situation that was hard to get out of. She tries to make herself the obvious target for the votes, but Donathan is not willing to risk his own game for hers.
