Another year, another case of CBS reality crossovers involving Big Brother, Survivor and The Amazing Race excluding a casting combination yet to happen.
It’s an odd time for CBS reality competitions. The Amazing Race season 30 had players who had just met each other on Big Brother 19, Survivor: David vs. Goliath will feature The Amazing Race (and TV/film’s) Mike White, and the next season of The Amazing Race will feature teams from all three CBS reality shows competing against each other!
Despite players from both other shows competing on Survivor, a castaway has never locked themselves up for 24/7 online viewing consumption just yet. Unless there’s an unseen twist that brings in new players, it won’t happen in Big Brother 20. The show starts next week, and the cast revealed today contains 16 completely new houseguests that have not been on a reality show before.
Just like Survivor Ghost Island, this upcoming season of Big Brother skews fairly young, even for the show’s ridiculous casting standards as of late. The oldest male player is 40, and the oldest female player is just 34 years old; both of which is actually younger than the oldest female and male player from Ghost Island.
There was speculation during Celebrity Big Brother‘s leadup to the cast reveal of its first-ever season that there would be a Survivor player, but the palm tree emoji used by host Julie Chen was actually indicating Brandi Glanville from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Update: Survivor is the only show of the trio not to have an original player join a season on another CBS reality show, as it stands.

Unfortunately, due to all shows culminating in a race against the world, it should be a fairly long time before we see a Survivor player on Big Brother (if that even ever happens). That’s right; Randy Bailey’s involvement with the show will have to be restricted to hot takes and earnest tweets in an attempt to make it to the live airings.
