Survivor contestants set to compete in Celebrity Fear Factor

Survivor offseason crossover content continues well into July and August, as Celebrity Fear Factor will include a reality competition extravaganza.

Usually, the moment between an even-numbered Survivor season ending and an odd-numbered season beginning lasts north of 120 days. This means that seeing players competing out on the island takes a four-month vacation in the US (even though there are currently excellent fan seasons airing on YouTube right now).

CBS, for their part, has been trying to get all the warriors together for The Amazing Race season 31, including three teams from Survivor. However, it looks like even more players will take their talent to an entirely different network by competing in the Ludacris-hosted Celebrity Fear Factor, as People reports the reality contestants taking each other on in their own episode.

Celebrity Fear Factor will debut on Tuesday, July 17 following The Challenge, with 10 one-hour episodes picked up. One of the episodes is marked as the “Reality TV Royal Rumble,” and will feature Abi-Maria Gomes, Sierra Dawn Thomas and Caleb Reynolds from Survivor against Cody Calafiore, Zach Rance, Brendon Villegas and Rachel Reilly from Big Brother (the latter two also on The Amazing Race).

The promo featured above, predictably, featured prominent reality show contestants from MTV’s family of programs first, including Snooki, Pauly D and more from The Jersey Shore. No Survivors were really teased in an episode, and it’s unclear exactly when MTV will air these episodes in what order.

Considering that Rachel Reilly is one of the most famous players from Big Brother (she has even won), seeing Abi-Maria Gomes and Sierra Dawn Thomas as the sole representatives of Survivor (I’m sure Caleb’s there to represent Big Brother) is a bit disappointing. Joe Anglim would probably have gone on with his girlfriend SDT, but he’s currently busy trying to win a million dollars.
