Azerbaijan, Estonia, Ecuador, Georgia (the country); a Survivor fan has made a giant map of the numerous international versions you might not know about.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and even though we just slogged through some of the bottom-tier seasons of Survivor in the past year, just a month away from the CBS version has us pining for what David vs. Goliath and season 38 has in store for viewers.
We’ve offered suggestions to watch fan-made seasons in the past, as those are the most accessible for our North American contingent of viewers. Most of them are on YouTube and don’t have copyright laws stopping them from airing to international audiences. However, there are dozens upon dozens of Survivor international versions available, although watching them legally offers few viable options.
Just how many Survivor shows are out there? Reddit user Lotterific998 has created a (mostly) complete map, indicating countries that have hosted at least one season in green while leaving out any country that has never hosted their own version in white. That map is available here.

The gameplay style is so popular around the world, most continents outside of Africa have a ton of representation in their most populous, industrial countries. Europe might have the strongest ratio of countries participating, with just relatively less populous countries of FYROM, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Perhaps the most egregious fact presented by this map? Every single country in the G7 (even G8) excluding Canada has hosted their own Survivor international version. For some reason, despite the US version being a huge ratings boost, Global TV won’t do the right thing and provide Survivor Canada to the eager fans at home!

Other locations we’d love to see get their own version of the show would be South Korea, Puerto Rico and Jamaica, as they are an interesting, diverse series of markets that would likely have their own style of gameplay and presentation.
