The players of Survivor season 38 have returned home, as indicated by the reported four returning players showing up on social media accounts.

It’s weird for Survivor players on even-numbered seasons. In the modern era, filming usually happens the week after the previous even-numbered season’s finale has aired live. They take that information, play a game for (up to) 39 days, return home and have to stay silent until late-January, early February. It becomes even harder to stay quiet once you’ve been on the show before and reported in the media.

Suffice to say, Survivor season 38 has now finished filming, as both Kelley Wentworth and Joe Anglim have been spotted on either their own Instagram accounts or those of their loved ones. In both cases, the video confirmation came in the form of Instagram stories, including Kelley visiting Costco on her own account.

In that story (only up for the next few hours), she says, “I came here for food. He came here for a TV.” Although some have already speculated that, based on a simple tweet about a shopping trip, Kelley is confirmed to make it far in Survivor season 38, it’s mere speculation. Everybody needs food, and people buy TVs all the time. There are no reserved winnings expenditures for this couple.

Over at Sierra Dawn Thomas’ story, Joe Anglim is seen sitting in a chair. That story has since expired, but it does show that the players are back in the United States after a sure-to-be grueling competition.

Within the next few days (perhaps even a week), the Survivor insiders and spoiler communities will be combing through everyone’s social media accounts to try and tie down exactly who’s competing in season 38. With the expectation of players staying in the Island of Extinction, it could be a while before everyone has recovered and back on the tweets or Instas.
