Survivor: Edge of Extinction episode 2 promo hints at returnee trouble

It really looks like some of the returnees’ time is numbered, as the Survivor: Edge of Extinction episode 2 promo teases one returnee being targeted.

It seems like early on, there’s always at least one player who makes it their mission to target returning players in a Survivor season with mixed players. Someone is usually smart enough to know that they have a huge advantage in the game yet none of the social capital they have required to pull off a blindside, hence their early elimination.

However, we’re talking about a bunch of superfans in Survivor: Edge of Extinction, as the proclivity of modern audiences becoming more knowledgeable in stats, analysis and all other aspects of the game mean that it’s possible we could see a returning player go home early. It’s been the conversation over at Kama in episode 1 and was hinted at over on Manu before Reem was sent to Extinction Island.

Now we have the Survivor: Edge of Extinction episode 2 promo for “One of Us Is Going to Win the War” (an ominous quote), showing that perhaps Aubry Bracco has found herself in early trouble. Despite trying to push her preseason plan of blending in and having fun as her and Ron Clark get down and boogie (I’m infinity years old), even Victoria’s aware that she might have to be voted out.

The title quote of “One of Us Is Going to Win the War,” as I mentioned when it was first revealed, makes me think that either pair of the returnees are set to go head-to-head for survival, as even on the diminishing Manu tribe the newbies triple the count of the returnees. Plus, we have yet another teased twist that might throw a wrench in the game, although I’m pretty sure it’s just another idol or advantage making its way into the game (or multiple).

Whatever the case may be, we’ll have to wait and find out on Wednesday when the episode airs.
