Perhaps the only player who even doubted their ability to play on the Edge of Extinction, should Keith Sowell return in a future Survivor season?

Before competing on a Survivor season, there is a checklist of the bare necessities you will need to know how to provide for yourself or tasks you should be able to accomplish. That doesn’t mean you absolutely need to do such things, but being able to make a fire is almost necessary at the Final Four, and being able to swim will help a ton in the aquatic challenges.

Keith didn’t seem to have the adequate access or time to prepare for the latter, it seems, as even in the Survivor: Edge of Extinction preseason press he expressed concerns about his ability to swim. That would become one of the early storylines for the Manu tribe, as his inability to perform in the water saw him bonding early with Reem and Wendy.

However, by teaching him how to swim away from the rest of the tribe, the three became the early targets. Instead of holding strong together, however, Keith threw his closest ally and mother figure, Reem, under the bus immediately, revealing to the majority six that Reem was targeting Kelley Wentworth.

As his self-perseverance kept him in the game for one round, the second round exposed his weaknesses. He slowed his tribe in the water, he couldn’t carry an equal portion of a heavy snake and he couldn’t hit the targets at the end of the Immunity Challenge, exposing himself as the weak link on the tribe.

Despite Wendy voting with Reem in the previous round, she was more than capable in the challenge, meaning those in power wanted to keep her around as a number for future votes. This saw Keith voted out second out of Survivor: Edge of Extinction, where he would betray everyone else’s request to search for an advantage on the Edge, lose it to Chris anyway and find an applicable disadvantage later on.

When he lost the first Edge of Extinction Challenge, he rejoiced about the opportunity for another shot to re-enter the game. However, almost immediately upon arriving back on the Edge, he raised the mast and quit the game, finishing in 18th place out of 18. Vote here to let us know if he should return in a future Survivor season.
